Back to the vet for more x-rays tomorrow. Yep, he's throwing up food AND water again. :(

Today has seriously been absolutely horrible. Our office manager told me today that we don't have any upcoming projects in the wings and only enough money in the company bank account to get us through to mid January. Unless we get some new clients coming in, we're all going to be out of work.

So with that hanging over my head, it was turning out to be a pretty horrible Christmas. I actually said, "This is the worst Christmas ever." Lucas said, "It can always be worse. Just be thankful it isn't."

It just got worse.

Ein is throwing up again. Food twice and water three times. Poor boy. Lucas said, "Ein" in an exasperated tone when he started to look like he was going to throw up again while we were cleaning up the second (and HUGE) water loss, just because he didn't want Ein to be sick again. Poor baby thought he was in trouble and looked upset. I told him to go outside with daddy and Lucas rushed him out. You could tell Ein was trying really hard to be a "good boy" and not throw up in the house because he threw up water again the second he was outside.

I already called work and left a voice mail saying I'd be late tomorrow. I'm taking him to the vet who is willing to do a payment plan for more x-rays. Either he is VERY sick, suddenly allergic to his food, or he has a blockage somewhere, because this is even worse than last time. At least work won't be mad at me for being late, considering the financial situation.

Have you looked at his stool? If he is going, look at the color. Augie was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia when he was about 2. His stool was bright orange, but the symptom that really got me going was throwing up his food. Have you checked Ein's gums to see if they are pink? Augie's were gray, a symptom of his blood loss that was coming out in the stool. Good luck with him, it's harder taking care of a sick dog, than a person. At least a person call tell you what's going on.
His stool has been normal in color, but I didn't think to check his gums. I'll do that when I get home from work tonight.

So far, he's still doing okay. Still extra clingy, but the Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach & Skin food seems to really be helping.
Peanut has been having trouble holding down food too

2 days ago Peanut threw up in the house twice. Once while he was in the living room and another time in his crate. I was out of town that day, so I had my parents take care of him. That day my parents replaced his normal kibble with baked potato and rice.
I thought the sudden switch to human food had upset his stomach so I immediately gave back his normal kibble- eukanuba.

The next day he was fine.

However this morning Peanut wet his crate and vomited inside. (Peanut hasn’t wet his crate for months now!) The vomit was kibble color plus a few chunks of his doggy treats I fed him. After I took peanut outside, he drank nearly 2 bowls of water and I hand fed a few pieces of kibble. Right after, he was back to his normal routine and lured me to play fetch with him. Later I started hearing him gag a little and a few specks of vomit came out. Also I think I hear a little coughing too. His ears were really red too

I'm going to watch him closey and have the vet on standby
Poor Peanut. I hope he feels better soon.

When Ein left the hospital the first time, they instructed me to feed him a bland diet of plain rice and boiled chicken or hamburger (or baby food chicken) for several days before putting him back on regular food, so as not to upset his stomach. So the rice should have been okay for Peanut, but I'm not sure about baked potato.

Is it possible that he got ahold of something that he shouldn't have eaten? Ein has given himself tummy problems in the past by eating wild "blueberries" that are mildly poisonous. Personally, I think these two incidents had nothing to do with his food and it's more likely that he ate some acorns outside, but switching him to a higher quality food certainly will benefit him regardless.

I swear, if it looks like anything edible, Ein will eat it. When my future mother in law had lots of birds, you'd have thought he died and went to heaven. He just loved vacuuming up all the bird seed that they tossed out of their cages. He also loves to try and sneak pellets that the rat and chinchilla lost out of their cages. I've lost track of the number of times I've had to tell him to drop an acorn that he picked up during potty time.

The reason the first place wanted to do exploratory surgery is because of his vacuum cleaner history. Even though he only vaccums up food, it was possible he thought something was food that really wasn't.

Give Peanut a pet for me.
I hear ya! Peanut will eat just about anything and everything. Peanut is an inside dog so we try to keep the carpet clear of anything that might choke or be dangerous to him.

However whenever I take him outside to pee/poo or for walks, he’ll always manage to get something in his mouth- rocks, cigarette butts, wood bark,.. you name it.

I wasn’t home when Peanut vomited the first day, so I wasn’t able to check what came out. But this morning, it was kibble, and some puppy treat…

I hope hes ok. I’ll keep you posted.

I hope Ein is feeling better!

Thanks for the kind thoughts =)
Dee Dee got really sick twice before for eating something outside. First time was when she ate something resembling avocado. There was an avocado tree outside our apartment, and I guess one of the fruit fell into our yard. She ate a quite a bit, and threw up all day long. At first, we could see what she ate, then she started to throw up water and bile. It must have upset her stomach really bad since she couldn't keep water down for almost a whole day. I took her to the vet, and they took x-ray, blood sample, and gave her an IV. She started to get better next day. We started back with giving her just cooked white rice, eventually mixing some dry dog food.

Second time was not as bad, but she ate bunch of pecans out in our yard. Next door neighbor has a pecan tree, and some must have fallen into our yard. I guess Corgis are attracted to all "nuts" smelling food, including pecans & acorns. I have caught my dog with acorns in her mouth too... (thankfully, she hasn't swallowed them)

Hope nothing too serious with your pup. Good luck and keep us updated! :)
I hope Ein and peanut both feel better! My thoughts are with you.Max has only had shall we say loose stools and the cactus. We think the stool problem is outside. He eats everything! Things have been better since I put him on Blue Buffalo. So I think we'll stick with that.
I hope he is feeling better! *hugs*
Mine go through periods of these episodes as well. Corgis are scroungers and they'll pick up anything outside which can cause stomach upsets but should subside pretty quickly. I am always having stools cultured and they are all clean so I know its not intestinal parasites plus I have them all on Sentinel which controls intestinal parasites. I never get alarmed as long as their temperature is normal and they are acting normal. I'll sometimes give them pepto bismal to settle the stomach and try to control the diarrhea which I normally only have to give one dose of it. It seems to be seasonal as well. Spring and fall are high times for this but I also have females coming into heat which seems to bring some of this on as well.

Good luck w/your dogs. It gets scary and sometimes frustrating too. I hope everyone has a Fantastic New Year.
