Help! Bonnie, my Corgi mix, while protecting the homestead this morning, was sprayed in the face by a skunk! Does anyone know of a good way to get rid of the stench especially in the face area? I don't like methods I've researched on the internet.
1-2 teaspoons liquid dish soap.
Ingredients must be mixed in an open container and used immediately. Never mix the ingredients in advance because oxygen released from hydrogen peroxide may cause a closed container to explode. The solution can be used on people or pets; avoid splashing the product in the eyes or mouth. Allow the solution to remain on hair for five minutes before rinsing with water. Repeat as needed. Do not use this solution on clothing — it may discolor the fabric.
Bonnie is smelling much better. Not sweet yet, but better. Thank you for asking & also for your suggestions. The first day we used a combo of tomato sause, dishwashing liquid to cut through the oil, & some skunk out stuff from Petco. It helped some but I think she got hit from a pretty close range. She went to grooming today & they used some sort of deodorizer & extra doggy cologne. Now she really only smells bad around the parts you can't clean very easily like her eyes, etc. Poor baby! I don't know how she can stand it herself.
