Fruits and vegetables can be great treats, particularly for overweight dogs. No more than 10% of the dog's diet should be in any type of treat, including fruits and veggies.

Most fruits are fine. Take the seeds out though (apple, peach apricot seeds can be toxic, and larger pits could cause a blockage). You are correct on NOT feeding grapes or raisins. I've also read mixed messages on avocado.

Most veggies are ok too. Do NOT feed onions, potato eyes or green potato skin, too much garlic, or green tomatoes (ripe tomatoes are good).

Off the fruit/veggie topic: NEVER feed chocolate.

The list of what is not ok is much shorter than the list of foods that are ok to feed.

Raw or frozen carrots are great for teething puppies. :)
