Lost of Interest In Food
Eowyn has recently lost interest in her food. She was never crazy for 'Dog food', only the first two days when having her. When she was 12 weeks old. But, she's eaten pretty much normal. But about a month ago, she totally wouldn't eat anything, so we bought her white fish. She loved that but quickly went off that. So we started buying her cubed steak and cooking that up and mixing it in with her biscuits. She ate that very well! But now, she won't touch it. I mean real beef. I thought any dog would kill for that. The only time she will eat it is if I hand feed it to her. (Which I don't do all the time) But if I don't, she won't even sniff it and she acts as if she is terrified of it. If I put it down in front of her, she backs away eyeing it and then hides in the bathroom. What's going on?! I walk her a lot, exercise her a lot, play with her a lot. She still won't eat. It takes forever for her to finally eat. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm at the end of my rope here...

Oh my gosh, you must be so worried! My daughter says Sidney (9 months old) sometimes does not want to eat, so she will occasionally hand feed him; other times she will just leave the food and he will come by an nibble through the day. But running off and hiding in the bathroom sounds really weird to me.
The first question that pops to mind is, have you taken her to the vet? Is she getting into something else that she's eating?
Love the name Eowyn. How do you pronounce it?

I know, I feel sick to my stomach when she hides in the bathroom. She acts like I have beaten her with her food or something which I would NEVER do!!
I've ask two vets now, and they simply said, "Change her food, she's tired of it." So I did and nothing is working! She's not eating anything else because she's always with me. I don't know what else to do....

Me too! We named our cat Pippin after the hobbit. Sidney came with his name already or he just might have been Frodo :-)

That is too cute, I like that name Pippin. My Nana's name is Phillipa and everyone calls her 'Pip' so I guess that could be one of the reasons I like that name so much too. =P

Ruling out any medical condition is certainly a good first step. If she is otherwise normal in terms of activity, has bright eyes, normal poops, etc, then I expect she has just become finicky.
I read on your profile that you have 2 other dogs and a cat. Are you sure she isn't eating one of their foods? Dogs love cat food (it's terribly unhealthy for them though). Are you giving her a lot of biscuits, or other yummy treats throughout the day? I'm inclined to suspect you may have spoiled her with the white fish, steak, too many yummy treats and anything else that tastes better to her than her kibble.
Try removing all treats for three days. Schedule times for her meals (say 9 am and 6 pm...or whatever schedule is convenient for you). Put her bowl down at 9am. Pick it up at 9:30am. Back down at 6pm. Back up at 6:30pm. She may not eat for a day. By day two, if she's not getting treats or your other pet's food, she should eat.
Dogs should eat the food we chose (healthy, nutritious, balanced kibble) for them on our schedule. No Corgi will ever starve itself to death with a good feeding schedule and routine. Make sure eveyone in the household understands the plan and follows the rules. (If your husband or child are feeding her "goodies" on the side, she will keep holding out for foods that are not nutritionally complete.)

She's perfectly fine with activity and going to the bathroom. Yes, we do have another dog and a cat, but the cat's food is up on a table which she can't get to and she's never eating it. The other dog's food is up high on a leveled eating plater, due to the fact he's a sighthound and needs to eat up off the floor. And about the treat things, I've never given her any, due to the fact she doesn't like them either! She won't eat milkbones or little doggie treats. She doesn't beg and doesn't get people food.
I've tried that schedule thing when she wasn't eating dog food, I put it down for 30 mins and picked it up. Once she went a whole week without eating and finally she ate one bowl and went a couple of days without eating again. Then sometimes she would eat like a horse! I got so happy, but about a week or two later, she stopped. I don't think there is something physically wrong with her, I think it is more mentally. She's a very fragile soul and is very timid at times. I think she is thinking that the food doesn't belong to her...I'm not sure! Thank you so much for your thoughts! =) I'm getting her switched to a vet closer to us and putting her under pet insurance and going to ask the vet to do some tests on her or something, to try and find out what is the matter with her. The only time Lance has lost his appetite for his food was about a year ago when he was eating Iams and it ended up being on the list of bad food.......we were not aware of it. I felt so bad, no wonder he didnt want to eat!! When I called the vet he said to switch him to Natural Balance Duck and Potatoe formula. I bought dry food as well as 1 can. I gave him the canned food first. Boy he couldnt sit still at all! He was so excited. He eats the dry food all the time now. You could always mix a little of the canned food with the dry food. Charlie brings up a good point. We discovered our corgi mix was stealing the cat's food. No wonder he was getting fat! The ver said that cat food is really fattenning to dogs and we had to move the cat food dish up on a table. Took the cats a day or two to figure out where their food went, but now they're happy and Bruce is slimmer.

Yeah, but like I said, our cat's food is up on a table as well. Eowyn with her little short legs can't get up there. Lol! So it's definentaly not the kitty food.
