Eowyn has recently lost interest in her food. She was never crazy for 'Dog food', only the first two days when having her. When she was 12 weeks old. But, she's eaten pretty much normal. But about a month ago, she totally wouldn't eat anything, so we bought her white fish. She loved that but quickly went off that. So we started buying her cubed steak and cooking that up and mixing it in with her biscuits. She ate that very well! But now, she won't touch it. I mean real beef. I thought any dog would kill for that. The only time she will eat it is if I hand feed it to her. (Which I don't do all the time) But if I don't, she won't even sniff it and she acts as if she is terrified of it. If I put it down in front of her, she backs away eyeing it and then hides in the bathroom. What's going on?! I walk her a lot, exercise her a lot, play with her a lot. She still won't eat. It takes forever for her to finally eat. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm at the end of my rope here...

She looks really healthy in her photos, lean and muscular and not too skinny. She appears to be getting enough food in her. I would try to get her used to a regular feeding schedule, for your convenience and in case you ever need to have someone else feed her for a few days (vacations, etc). Adding a little canned food is good, or low-fat yogurt or cottage cheese, unsalted beef broth to get her interested and on a routine.

You might also shoot a few emails to some of the good-quality dog food manufacturers and ask if they'll send you a sample of their food. A lot of them will, hoping you will switch to their brand. Eowyn could then do a "taste test". You may be able to find one she really likes without having to spend a lot buying full bags.
I mean, she's in perfect health, before about a couple of months ago when she didn't eat anything, she was very skinny. Now that I've put her on beef and biscuits, she put on some weight and her coat is filling out some more, now she's not eating the beef and I don't want her to be skinny again!

I've been feeding her regularly throughout the whole year I've had her, Once in the morning and once at night. Mainly she only eats at night. She had no interest in the food when it's the morning. She ate pedigree dry biscuits and canned meat for a while, then she went off it. She will absolutely not eat dry biscuits alone, except one time when we came back from a walk she ate a couple. But she plays with dry biscuits a lot! She'll take one and run across the living room with it and toss it in the air. Then she will eat it, but other than that, she won't touch them when they are alone. I've tried to gently stopped her from playing with them so she knows they are not to be played with and they are there to be eaten, but that didn't work. And the cottage cheese thing my Nana tried, she only ate a little bit and turned her nose up at it. I admit, I think one of my problems is I change her food too often, I'm sure that's one of the reasons, but she eats it when I do for a little bit, but goes off it really quickly and I don't want her to starve. When I cooked her thin steak, I cooked her biscuits in with it so the juices were absorbed by the biscuits, she still doesn't eat them. Sometimes she will growl at her food, or lay by it and just stare at it. If one of the animals come near it, like the cat or the borzoi, she'll immedietly run to her bowl and growl at them. Yet, If I pick it up, she just lays there and allows me too. I don't know what's going on through her little head. And all night long, I can hear her stomach growling sometimes so loud! It worries me...

The only time she will eat something that's in her bowl is if I hand it to her or pretend I'm eating it and then she wants some and maybe she will tuck into it. I've tried giving her food to her on a plate, because I thought maybe she was afraid of bowls, but nope. I'll definentaly try e-mailing the food manufacturers and try that, Thank you! I really appreciate your advice! It makes me feel better when people give some advice, I feel so alone with this problem.
What about feeding her in her crate? Privacy might help and if she isn't sure it is her food, that may help.
Thanks, but, alas, I've tried that too, she just tips it all over the place. Then, I have a big ol' mess to clean up.
Is she eating any regular dog kibble at all? Beef and dog biscuits is likely to load her with too much protein and fat from the meat and the pedigree biscuits are mostly wheat flour so not much nutrition. I would be concerned about her not getting enough vitamins, minerals, and some essential fatty acids that a good quality "balanced" kibble would give her to maintain good health. Hopefully you'll be able to find a kibble she'll eat well, or the vet can help if there is some medical problem with her appetite.

You're never alone here. Lots of great folks on this forum are always willing to help. : - )
She doesn't eat kibble at all! The kibble I mix in with the steak now is Beneful, she'll just pick out the meat and leave the biscuits. Before she use to eat some of the biscuits with the pedigree meat, those were the only biscuits she's ever eaten. She doesn't like dog food, dog treats, nothing. She won't even eat milkbones or anything of that sorts, but she loves Rawhide. What kibble would you recommend for her since she might not be getting enough vitamins and stuff? Is Beneful okay? Or is there something maybe I can give her to make her feel that she is getting them and maybe she will eat? Thank you!
I tend to recommend Wellness brand, or that Natural Balance one Orlandmom recommended earlier.
They sell food in "chubs" that look like those Hickory Farms smoked sausages, knwo what I mean? We've fed the dogs that occasionally and they absolutely LOVE them! You can find it at Petco or PetSmart.

here's the website for Natural Balance:

The style food is called "dog food rolls" apparently!
Oh! I think I know what you are talking about, I picked something up like that to look at it when I was buying some toys for Eowyn. I was like, "What's this? Looks yummy." But I wasn't sure what it was. I should definitely try some of that, thank you!
I like any of the 5-Star foods on this website: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/
There are about 46 brands on the 5-Star list to choose from. The 4-Star foods (145 brands) are a little grainy, but you could add some real beef or chicken, and they would be ok too. (I feed Charlie Canidae All Life Stages.)

If you look at the ingredients on your Beneful, you'll see it is mainly corn, corn meal and chicken by-product meal as the top ingredients. The vitamins, minerals your dog needs you'll see on about the bottom two-thirds of the ingredient list on your bag. I'm not a big fan of Beneful, but it is better for Eowyn than just beef and dog biscuits, due to the nutritional supplements. She should be eating 90% of her calories in a dog kibble with the minimum required nutrients, and no more than 10% treats and other foods.
I see, I think I might change her biscuits to the one you are feeding your Charlie, I want to give her the best food possible! Do you think I should just give her dry biscuits (the ones you feed Charlie )with that balance meat sausage Geri was talking about? Or couple cubes of steak? And just put it down for her and if she doesn't eat it, pick it up and keep doing that until she eats?
I may have misunderstood you earlier. When you say "biscuits" I think of dog treat type biscuits. Sounds like you are talking about what I call kibble (my Canidae, or your Beneful), you call biscuits. Anyway, if the dog is on a really good quality kibble, technically there isn't any reason to feed anything else. But to help a finicky dog eat, or for extra-yummy training treats, or sometimes just because we have a great dog, we want to offer them something in addition to their main food. I only give Charlie bits of unseasoned cooked meats, bits of veggies and an occassional dab of peanut butter as training treats outside of his kibble. Those dog food rolls do look like "treat" type food (or just the bits of steak you've been feeding) that you could add small pieces to encourage Eowyn to eat.
Oh yes, sorry that's my british coming out. I say a lot of things some people hear don't get. Sorry about that. Yeah when I say biscuits I mean kibble as you say. Oh I see what you are saying. Those sausage things probably are treat things where you roll in a ball and feed it to them huh? Well I'll try a number of things and see which one she response to the best, thank you!
