Another question about poop!

Who knew being a dog owner would make you so interested in poop? LOL. Well, this morning Stanley's poop was rather odd. It started out as kinda white-grey powdery poop but finished off as a normal brown poop. I tried to do some research and a lot of people point to the dogs eating a bone. But I don't give Stanley bones. He did eat a pigs ear yesterday and we put some Kong Puppy Paste stuff in his kong toy that he ate. Nothing out of the ordinary. So should I be concerned about the powder poop???

he he he.... we love poop questions :) Bile salts from the liver give poop its brownish color. A decreased in bile output will contribute the white / grey color. Another cause is the ingestion of aluminum hydroxide (antacids).

LOL...you sound like my husband. Every morning I ask him how is everyones poop. How are the pups poop and he'll try to be funny and say "it looks like --it" grrr Now when he gives me a good report, I get all excited and he is amazed how someone can be so excited over feces. It tells you alot. Have you looked into Probiotics?

I gave him baby yogurt from time to time. Is that like a probiotic?

If that is the only thing you have on hand it will do but I have just learned from a seminar that yogurt can be lactose intolerant and w/in humans really isn't affective since it doesn't get past the gut. Probiotics is the route to go and to get one w/an expiration date since they say those are the better ones. One brand mentioned was Probios.

you are not the only one obsessed with poop.....I watch Spencer's poo everyday! I am amazed at the colors and configurations that seem to exist in the land of poo!
