Please excuse my ignorance -- I haven't had a puppy in 16 years or a dog in 11 years, so I don't know if I'm flipping out with good cause or if I'm just being an overanxious, overprotective mother.
Doris just turned 8 weeks old. We also celebrated the one-week anniversary of bringing her home. So far, everything's been fabulous. Then last night I was petting the little darling, and I discovered a bump. She has a bump! It feels like a little cyst just to the left of her left shoulder blade -- smaller than a marble; bigger than BB.
Doris will see my vet on Monday (only two more days to wait!), but I'm flippin' out. Is this normal? Should I be worried? Am I just worrying because I can? Does anyone else have lumpy puppies? Is it just me and Doris? If I hold my breath, will my head explode?
[To be fair, I should tell you that Doris keeps rolling her eyes at me when I ask her if she has canker. Then she yips at her toy and chases it across the dining room floor, so I think Doris feels all right. Even if I'm having a heart attack.]
Thx,
Bay
