Bully sticks that don't stink?

So as I was at Petco today looking for something to keep Dax occupied while I'm not home (he's started gnawing on the corners of my table. Can't have that), I came across the bully sticks. I had heard that they were great for powerful chewers so I decided to get one. I gave it to him when I got home to see what he thought about it (loves it by the way), but now my house smells like a petting zoo. I want to give him something that he likes that will occupy his time, but the smell is unbearable. Are there any that maybe don't have an odor? Or maybe something else I can give him that doesn't smell that will keep him busy while I'm not home? I don't like giving him the regular plain rawhide bones because he chews and chews and it just gets soggy and disgusting, and I'd like something that won't stain his paws or the carpet. Hopefully I'm not asking too much. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried using feeding balls (balls that you put small treats/dog food into)? I have a "molecule ball" for my little one.

I would be careful about leaving a dog alone with bully stick...in case they choke...etc. What about using the busy buddy waggle? They sell them at target and you can put food in each end of the stick. google waggle

oh yea.. at Christmas someone put my new hat next to Owen's bully stick on the fire place during a chewing break.. it reeked! I was so mad- it took some major fabreeze to kill that smell. However... it kept him busy for a couple hours during presents and such

I suggest to my training classes that they always supervise rawhides and bully sticks because of the possibility of choking. If you want to leave him with something to occupy him, treat balls are excellent (Tank loves the one that has moon craters in it. It's orange.) Kongs filled with stuff are good: all-natural peanut butter (I put these in baggies and freeze before giving them.), baby carrots, pieces of apple, frozen green beans, etc. Using veggies is great because they don't mess the carpet hardly at all. Also using mini-wheat squares (without sugar coating) or cheerios in treat balls are great. But I would definitely avoid rawhides or bully sticks without supervision.

Thanks everyone. Now that you say it, I'm realizing I probably shouldn't leave him alone with something like a bully stick. I never bought him anything like a Kong because I thought he'd just figure it out way too easily (but don't we all think our dogs are the smartest?), but I might try it. He just gets bored with stuff so easily that I just never thought he would go for it. I might try the antler chews though (for when I'm home, of course) because he really loves the bully stick and I hate to take it away from him, he just gives me those oh-so-pitiful eyes that they do so well. Thanks for all the suggestions!
