I think the look of the chest to a corgi depends on the leg length and shoulder placement (structure wise) my boy Jordan isn't chesty at all but he's a legger corgi. Teagen whose legs are shorter than Jordan's comparitively as she's a petite 19lb adult and he's a heavier adult at 32lb's (no fat!! ) she has that chestier look. Doe's Kirby have long legs?
yup, he has longer legs, i was under the impression that once they turned a cirtain age their chest grew lower to the ground
To my understanding, the term "chest dropping" has nothing to do with the dog getting lower to the ground. That is determined by leg length. What is meant by the chest dropping is that the dog gets wider in the front as the chest fills out or "drops." If you will notice puppies are very narrow in the front (legs close together) and when their "chest drops" or they "get their chest" they are more filled out and wider in the front.
ohhh, thanks for clearing that up lyla :) do you know about when i can expect him to widen up a bit?
It depends entirely on the dog and the bloodlines. Some boys don't finish filling out until they are close to 2 years old.
