We recently adopted a 3 yr old male Pembroke that after 4 weeks is not getting along with our female 3 yr old corgi. We have had ours since a puppy . The male is a big burly boy, weighing in at 40 lbs and not fat. We were helping out a couple who had to relocate suddenly and we really wanted it to work and add another corgi to our home . We have grown to love him but we need to do what's best for our female.
Rufus, the male, that we would like to rehome is a lovely burly but skittish boy. He had a "sister" cardi but has no interest in our female. She tries! He is not well trained but has picked up our training pretty well. He doesn't run, stays with us, stays in the yard, doesn't bark, loves people, even mailmen!
He is not a picky eater, he LOVES to walk and exercise and loves the hose. He can hike all day and likes squirrels. Cats that aren't supposed to be in the yard are up for a chase but is fine with our 2.
He doesn't like "intact" male dogs. He would prefer that small children don't run up to him on a walk with their hands to his face. Over excited puppies scare him.
He is a quirky boy and would benefit from obedience training.
He is not a bigs cuddler at least yet . He sleeps on his bed, no interest in a crate (our f sleeps in a crate and he just looks in it)
We would love to find him a place to run, chase and smile.
We are in Southern California(orange county)
