Michelle and I just got a 15 week old AKC Great Dane puppy and Baxter (red and white) is not having it. Baxter is very possessive and tries to guard me from the new puppy. He shows his teeth, growls, and snaps at the puppy whenever the puppy is near. We let both Corgi's meet the puppy one on one, Frank loves him, Baxter goes into fight or flight mode when the puppy sniffs him. We've taken our Corgi's to the dog park since we were able to and Frank and Baxter have no problem with strange, larger dogs. I'm sure people have experienced this before with introducing other breeds to the Corgi pack, what did you do to make it work?

I am currently having the same issue. My baby was brought into our pack (which is a Weimaraner) and she loves him to pieces. However, I just introduced a foster dog into the pack and she is exhibiting the same behavior as your dog Baxter is. She is possessive/jealous of Milo and doesn't want him near me.

Milo has bonded with me and will follow me all over the house. Freya will do the same. It's kind of weird. I wish all our dogs would get along...sigh. It is very difficult to have to do 2 hour tours for both of the male dogs.
Walk them both on the leash, one on each side, no sniff sniff, just mission walk, this will drain their energy and put less focus on each other, it builds pack spirit and forces them to pay attention to your lead. Many behavior problem can be solve by exercise, don't just let them play in the dog park, have structured team building time. Good luck!
