I'm looking for a change for the good. I currently work for a vet hospital, and it's getting a little stagnant. Those of you who work with dogs, what do you do? I love the genre (of course), but am looking for some other options. School is an option, but for what? I love helping dogs, and in love the fact I can take my Corgi with me. I was just hoping for some ideas.

Much appreciated,

Maybe try a different hospital? I work at a 24 hr. emergency clinic and it is anything but stagnant lol. Something I've always wanted to do was work for a vet that does rehab. It would be cool to work in a hospital that does hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and other alternative medicine. I have a friend who is a dog trainer and she LOVES it.

I like Melissa's suggestion.  I know how much things like acupuncture means for my Max.  How about taking classes and learning how to do that.  I can take Max into the office for acupuncture or she will come to my home to do it.

I too like Melissa's suggestions, especially because people are becoming more and more open to holistic and alternative kinds of medicine for themselves as well as for their animals, so the future looks good in this area.   You may find there is a holistic Vet in your area.  On the flip side, keep up the study of whatever you get interested in, because if you don't have the pieces of paper to back up the knowledge you gain you will always be underpaid.... Good luck with your career helping animals.
