Hello everyone, ANYONE! I am looking for this product for my Corgi to be outdoors longer periods of time. I saw one of those commercials on tv for a post you screw into the ground that you can attatch the leash to so Corgi can roam around your yard. We dont have a fenced front yard so I want this thing badly. At the time i mentioned it to hubby he said NO, Corgi is good you can let him out and he wont wonder off...RIGHT. I have 3 young ones, and as soon as i turn my head to peek in the house to make sure they arent kiling eachother, Corgi skips-to-my-loo down the street or around the corner! So NOW hubby says, "We should get a post..." OMG, I know...So I tried looking online and i cant seem to find it. I even searched on the AS SEEN ON TV site, no luck.Key features: Its orange, screws into ground, below grass level so you cant trip over it, and can mow lawn over it, i think the retractable leash is part of it. DOES ANYONE HAVE IT!?!? Or know what its called or where to get it?

something like this?
Sam, Its something like that, but this one goes below ground level. It helps especially since we arent suppose to have Corgi, we are renting, and lease says NO DOG...landlord has seem him and is ok with him but i think its because he thinks we were corgi sitting for grandma. Do you think the one from fosters and smith can pass as a kids toy left out in the lawn....next to kong frisbees?? ;-)
Sound like any normal tether system. I am not sure what you were looking at but maybe this is what you want???

It allows you to have the dog out, without the risks of entanglement.

I have just plain stakes that I pound into the ground and attach a leash to it. I can mow over it but have to take the cable off first. You can get them at the store. I don't like using retractable cables for a few reasons...1. cables kink and twist and possibly in due time won't retract like they should. 2. We teach our dogs to walk on a leash to have no pressure or tugging on the lead but w/the retractable leash that is saying something different.

I also have a runner that attaches to the house and to a tree way into the back yard and have a 20 ft. cable on it for the dogs to run back and forth when I can not monitor them. Its off the ground and high enough not to close line you but if your dog is on it you run the risk of him close lining you. LOL

Which ever method you choose..just remember...dogs will wrap the lines around things so where ever you put your line make sure it is clear of obstacles or your dog will find them for you and in hot weather he may not be able to get to his water bowl because he is tangled around something and sitting out in direct sun.
