Spartacus isn't really "networking" savy when it comes to meeting new dogs. He can get along well with them, and play with them... but for the life of me, he will never let a dog get near his bum to smell it.

does anybody have corgis that are the same as this?

and i've noticed that when Spartacus encounters a new dog, he has to be face-to-face with the dog, if the dog tries to dodge left or riight, Spartacus would follow suit and keep his face right there with the other dog's face, I suppose it's a "gaining dominance" tactic of his.. he is about a year and 2 months old, neutered at 8 months.

should i be worried and try to get him help before this habit is permanently engrained in him?

Try finding a training class in your area. This will give you the opportunity to be in a more controlled environment with other dogs. May be good just to share time in the company of other dogs without interaction until he has a better comfort level. I would not consider this a dominice tactic but more a discomfort at sharing his "personal information" with other dogs due to his lack of exposure. The training class will also help you become more familiar with dog behavior as well as help you teach your dog the many good commands a dog should know.
