Hello all,

Our corgi, who is at an ideal weight and gets plenty of exercise, has had some pretty bad gas lately. He eats Orijen dog food, with a few training treats (natural salmon bites, sweet potato biscuits and/or freeze-dried liver) a day, plus a very small amount of whatever fruit we happen to be eating (a few small bites of an orange, for example).

His farts are terrible! We have started giving him nonfat plain yogurt to see if it helps with digestion. He does eat *really* fast; I don't know if that makes a difference or not. He also has a nasty habit of eating dog poop on walks, but he doesn't do it all the time (I do my best to keep him from eating it!).

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I feel your pain!  Frosty's gas actually makes us leave the room sometimes!  Sorry, we have not found a solution, so I can offer no advice, but I do offer my heartfelt sympathy!!
Hi Hannah, how's his poop? firm or soft serve? My Vienna does fine with Orijen, but it's too rich for my Mocha and he had terrible gas when he was on it.
I just went to the Vet on Friday b/c Winston was having some vomiting, and my vet told me that rawhide chews can give dogs very bad gas, esp when eaten too fast (which Winston does!!). You didn't mention rawhides, but any chewy treats, if gobbled down, might be the problem.
Both of my girls eat Orijen.  One has a lot of gas and the other does not.  Poppy, my gassy girl, eats her food in a matter of seconds. Daisy eats at a slow pace and has some gas from time to time... but nothing like Poppy does.  She can send us running out a room gasping for air!   Both have very firm poop and I have not had any issues other than Poppy's noxious gas.
Thanks for your feedback. We will look into a different brand of food and see if that does the trick!
