Having pics taken

Well, I took my grandsons, 2 and 4, and Herky and Mia all to have pics taken. I had a great coupon so couldn't resist!

I thought the corgis would be easy and was all set to "fight" with the kids. Totally opposite! Grandsons were great (candy bribe, bad grandma). The corgis would not stay where they were supposed to. I had Jaxsen hold onto Herky (see pic) and we waited for Mia to stroll thru and the photographer took the ONE pic we got of her!

any suggestions in case I lose my mind and attempt this again in my lifetime....

Standard technique is to brandish dog treat behind the camera. Works if dogs (and kids) have reliable sit-stay.

Hi Mia, Herky and Kim, if you look at this picture closely, my hand is holding Mocha's collar and my other hand is on his butt putting him in position. My wife actually hides a camera remote control in her hand and wraps around Vienna's body. We then ask my sister to hold a bag of treats above the camera lens, make ruffling packaging noise and start calling their names, you'll get a decent picture by the 10th click :)

Sometimes we would throw a tennis ball towards the camera direction or ask someone to squeak their toys, make sure you hang on to their collars. Practice makes perfect, Good luck!

Noodles loves the camera and all I have to do is show him a piece of his jerky treat, have him watch that it is being set on top of the camera, we then sit ourselves next to him and we take the picture. Noods will do ANYTHING for food. Honestly, we tell him to sit and stay, show him the treat and he will do whatever pose you ask of him. I think he is more natural when we take the pictures ourselves because if he hears a squeaky toy, he will close his mouth and we won't get that beautiful corgi smile. When we do the pictures ourselves, we always get that corgi smile. I love the pictures though!
