How can you tell when your female corgi puppy is peeing/about to pee?

I just brought "Mollie" home today at 8 weeks old. She's a really sweet girl and so far relatively well behaved. I just had a question about how can I tell when she is about to pee:

So far I've been taking her outside every 2 hours or less, but sometimes she goes potty, sometimes she doesn't. The times that she doesn't go I begin wondering how she can hold her bladder for that long, but then realize much later, when I discover a tiny wet spot, that she has actually peed a little bit in her indoor exercise pen where I'm keeping her.

I've been keeping an eye on her all day - and my biggest problem is I can't tell when she is about to pee or IS currently in the act of peeing. She is so short that when she "squats" to pee it just looks the same as she's sitting down for a second. And she doesn't really do the sniffing around in circles thing. I've been trying to catch her in the act so I can "punish" her and take her outside, but somehow I always miss the opportunity!

Any suggestions? Thank you! :)

PS: Pooping, on the other hand, is very obvious :)

Take her out regularly (like every hour) and use the same words each time like "Go potty". Keep saying it till you see her squat. It is harder to tell when they are little. The only time she wouldn't be taken out that regularly would be after the last potty break before bed till she wakes up in the morning (unless) she wakes up in the night to go). Sometimes having a blanket in the crate or too big of a space (they should only be able to turn around so use a partition if you need to) can be the problem. Without a blanket and a small space, they should not pee where they sleep. Also, when you eat dinner should be the last time she eats/drinks water. We also limited water to breakfast feeding, lunch feeding and dinner feeding and did not have water out besides that. Once they get used to regular potty breaks and set feedings they start to go potty at set times. Good luck! PS, after about 4 days, Daphne was able to go 4.5 hours in her crate during the morning till my husband got home at lunch and at night about 7 hours.
