Update: Swimming went pretty well for the first time!

Bucher has swam many times and Sally only a couple.  This was a new experience inside!  !  Sally was scared at first and pooped in the pool, but once they got used to it and I took the life jackets off they both liked it better.  I will take them again!  I attached two short videos

I’m going to the K-9 Aquatic Center tomorrow to check it out.  The owner said that there will be 6 corgis swimming in the afternoon and I can watch... two of them are puppies. :)  What is the chance that I call to check on the price and there is going to be Corgis there tomorrow?  I will check it out and figure out if I should take my dogs together or separately for their first time swimming indoors.  Has anyone else taken their corgi's to an aquatic center?

UPDATE:  Checked out the aquatic center & have an appt. for tomorrow @ 2:00.  The corgi's that were swimming just loved it!!  I attached a pic of the pool.

I live in the boonies of Iowa. We are lucky to have a pool for people!!
We dont have a cement pond either
That's no lie--I'm from southeast Iowa and couldn't even find a lake that was dog friendly.

We have! Sidney went swimming as physical therapy when he was recovering from hip dysplasia surgery. It made him so strong!

At first he hated the water, but the coach was so great with him, and encouraged him with dried chicken bits. By the end of his therapy he was a regular guppy.

At this place, do you go in the water with them? Do they provide vests, or do you have to bring your own? Prepare for the hilarity when they get out of the water and to the face-plant slide across the floor. Love it! If you want to see Sidney swimming, go to my page and look for this water therapy videos. Let us know how it goes!

I can go in the water if I want to and they provide the vests!  I'll keep you posted and I'm going to check out your video!!

Geri That is great what you did on "My Page". Thanks for telling us about it. More pictures and videos please. More of us need to see that.

That is sooooooooooooooooooo cool! I want to watch a bunch of corgis swimming!!! lol. Franklin's "aquatic center" is the Sacramento River. But he looooooooooooooooooves to swim and its the best exercise for them. Easy on the joints, especially for older, injured, or overweight dogs. Your dogs should have a blast!
Tomorrow @ 2 Bucher & Sally are going swimming!  I'm going to try to get pics or a video!!
