looking for a cardigan breeder!:D

so me and my husband have been talking about getting another corgi!! but we have decided to get a cardigan this time:) we are not in a huge rush but would like to find a really good breeder close to DC. since we are just a few minuets away from Virgina and Maryland that is fine:) we are all about the health and temperament of the puppy so thats what im looking for in a breeder.

i work a part time job(4hours) and have weekend off and im just a block away from my house. i know exactly how to raise a pup and we do have the money to provide for him or her. but like i said no rush if there is a litter next year thats awesome:) we are really hoping to get a brindle cardigan. and would love to get to know the breeder through email, pics of the past litters and things like that.

we are truly excited and me and my husband truly love corgis and think they are the best dogs anyone could ever have! me and my hubby have corgi fever going on right now lol

Take a look at the Breeder's List for the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America; it's broken down by region. There are several good breeders in the Mid-Atlantic area. We got Dewi from the Proias at Arian Farms (outside of DC), but I can't tell you when/if they will have another litter (she breeds very rarely). You might also try Grangefield (we have not visited her, but spoke to her and both Dewi's and Jon's breeders know her well (Jon is a granddaughter of one of her girls). A little closer to Richmond, there is Fine Creek (and we know Anne Taylor). She also breeds rarely and always has a waiting list.

You can also get breeder references from your local Cardigan club.

Cardigan breeders are pretty closely knit and if one doesn't have pups, they can almost assuredly find another breeder who does.
