So today Ein went to McAllister Park for the annual kite festival and dog fair :) He had the time of his life meeting and playing with all the fellow MyCorgi pups. It was very apparent how big Ein was compared to his friends. He was almost twice the size of some! He's almost 7 months old and am wondering if anyone else has a similar sized corgi. I'm not too sure about his weight but about 2 months ago he weighed 17 lbs. So I'm assuming he's about 20 or so lbs. He's very slim, stocky and long. He measures in at about 30'' from snout to tail and 23'' from the shoulders (where this collar sits) to his tail. Is he a "monster sized Corgi" or is he simply big for his age?

When I took Brodie to obedience training there was another corgi (also a male) who made him look huge!
Guess he's just a bigger build (a little over 30# at 2 1/2 years old). Not the breed standard, but healthy and trim for him
haha, how funny, I guess he does look kinda big compared to Pooka, but from what I can tell, Pooka comes from small parents, was one of the smaller in the litter, and she never stops burning calories while being a finicky eater, so she's always skinny. There's also just... different sizes of corgis. I think some people breed them small to be more of a pet, and others breed'm larger for workin, the breed standard be damned. We had a corgi come stay with us and he was obese, but besides that he was HUGE. The vet says he was probably only 2. So, just different.

p.s. I just uploaded the pix onto flickr
Niko is going to be a year in a few months and he is about 32 lbs. He's not fat at all, but I've seen alot of bigger corgi's. I think your Ein is going to be just fine. After 6 months, Niko just seemed to grow so much!! Hopefully he slows down, but sounds about the same as mine.
Stanley's about 7 months old now and weighs in at 22 1/2 lbs. He doesn't look overweight or anything but I do believe he's on the big side compared to other corgis we've seen. But from what I've read on these boards - corgis seem to just range in size. Doesn't sound like anything to be concerned about :)
My Saxon turned one year old 4/13 and he weighs over 30 lbs. I don't know what happened to my little puppy but he sure grew. He's a sweetie though and I say he's lean and sleek, but just going to be a big corgie.
Bertie, my Hefty Cinch Sak, weighs in at 35-38 pounds, and my little princess Ethel, a mere 25 pounds. And they both look good to my eyes (I can feel their ribs under muscle, they have little waistlines, etc.). They are uncle and niece, too. I don't know who that chubby person with the leashes is (jeeze, is that really me???) So there you are! I'm the only one with weight concerns....

I'm so glad i found this thread! Spencer was 19 lbs at 5 months and he's VERY trim. Clear definition of the hips and you can feel his ribs easily. At 7 months i think he has slowed growing a bit. my guess is he's about 25 lbs.

We did get him from a horse ranch where his parents and some of his older sibling were working dogs, so maybe he came from working dogs who were supposed to be bigger? I'm not sure but he's a big teddy bear!
All of ours are different sizes, builds and weights. Moira is the closest to breed standard in looks and build. She weighs in at 24 lbs. (She was our mega-corgi weighing 48 lbs. when we got her. But she is well-built now except for a bit of excess skin left over from her weight loss.) Dundee doesn't look like a "true" corgi but he definitely is. He has a longer snout, though. He weighs about 25 lbs. Cody is our 14 year old. He is the very closest to breed standard and weighs about 22 lbs. He's slim, but because of his age is starting to lose muscle tone. Our baby is Maddie, who by definition is probably considered a 'mini-corgi' (don't start a mini-corgi thread please). Maddie came from the same puppy mill as Dundee. She's very small at 17 lbs. and almost 2 years old.
