No, it seems pretty excessive in terms of expense. I do feed my pups nature's variety dry food though.

I mixed this with my last dog's food, who had a sensitive stomach. He did well on it, and loved it. It's pricey, but worth it if your dog has a sensitive stomach or food allergies. Or even give it to them as a treat, they love it!

I fed it to Franklin for about a month then he absolutely refused to touch it. Not sure what it was, but he quit eating and wouldn't eat for days so I put him back on kibble after 3 days of him not touching his food. He is not a picky eater at all so this was really odd.

We get frozen raw food from a local Seattle company (Darwin's), can't afford it but do it anyway.  They thrive.  We add some Wellness kibble, not much.

Nature's Variety makes freeze-dried raw meat briquettes, very expensive but perfect for multi-night backpacking trips.

I have been feeding my corgis Natures Variety for a couple of years now.  My boy gets 1/4 cup dry and 1 oz frozen plus some fruits and veggies and some salmon oil morning and night.  I really don't think it's overly expensive when you see how little you have to feed them compared to "regular" brands.  My female was very overweight and on diet dog food and didn't lose weight until I switched her to the frozen raw.  I also switch it out with meat and veggies I do in the slow cooker.
