About a month ago we brought a 2 month old corgi puppy, Ziggy, home to live with our nearly 2 year old corgi, Baxter. At first Baxter was a bit stand-offish, marveling at this new little walking/talking toy. Within a few days, they became pretty comfortable with each other.

Now the problem... Baxter has not had any accidents since he was a puppy of well under one year old. Ziggy is currently doing pretty well on potty training, except he has been having little "peep" accidents where he doesn't fully urinate, but just pees a little spot on the rug about the size of a quarter. Initially I was concerned that Baxter might want to mark any Ziggy accidents. Thankfully, that has not happened. However, what has happened three times (twice just this weekend,) is that Baxter started pooping in the house!

The first time this happened, I had to take Ziggy to the vet. Baxter had not pooped that morning, but that was not too uncommon as sometimes he just "goes" in the afternoon. I cleaned the mess up with an enzyme/stain/odor remover. The next almost two weeks were fine. This weekend, Baxter and Ziggy were playing, only for Baxter to stop playing, go into the living room, and decide he wanted to poop on the floor! The next day, the same thing happened except that Ziggy had a peep accident at the same time. However, between the second and third time I did not have any enzyme/stain/odor remover. I had ran out but now have more in-stock and re-cleaned the areas.

Baxter has been going out every time I take Ziggy outside, so there is ample amount of time to potty. He has been acting somewhat strange outside lately. I will walk him and Ziggy to the edge of the grass to go potty and he will turn around and rush back to the door. I still don't really understand this behavior. My boyfriend thinks this is related to a hornet that Baxter tracked into the house. The hornet would not fly off of Baxter's back paw. While this really freaked me out, Baxter did not seem upset about this. He was not stung and let me handle his paw without any problems.

I know when a puppy moves in, behaviors can get a little out of whack. I guess I just thought puppy accidents would begot peeing and not pooping accidents! Is it better to take both dogs out at the same time than taking each dog separately? Any advice would be great. Thanks!!
