Pedipaws
Has anyone used a Pedipaw on their babies? I don't like to clip nails and they charge a mint. If it'll work I'll get one. Also can some one tell me more about the furminator and does it work? Thanks.

I love the furminator. It basically grabs the hair in the undercoat and it works like a regular comb or brush.
I have the pedipaws and I nearly lost both my hands. I tried to de-sensitize them before hand, rubbing it all over them, putting their paws up to it even with it on. The minute I put their claw in their, the freaked! I think it was the vibration. It is just easier for me to clip them- with each clip the get a little cookie before and after. we are all much happier like that!

You are better off going to Walmart and getting a 2 speed cordless dremel for $25. I love the furminator but must be careful using it and can damage the hair coat so don't over use it.

Agreed with Wendt Worth! The dremel is the way to go. We just got the PediPaws at PetSmart and it sucks. We pulled one out and put batteries in it. It didn't do squat. As for the Furminator, it totally ROCKS. If you don't want to pay $35-50 for one, check out E-bay. A client got one for about $20 the other day.

There was a review of pedipaws on Good Morning America, the reporter demonstrated on a little dog and a medium sized dog and her report ended with this advice---"you are better off clipping their nails than using pedipaws". The dogs struggling even a little bit makes this device too hard to use.
On the furminator, it does work well for me, I have tried it. Recommend the medium size for a Corgi. I wouldn't use it if you are showing the Corgi in conformation though.
