As part of the growing recall due to possible salmonella-tainted peanut butter, PetSmart is recalling some of their Grrreat Choice dog biscuits. Certain varieties may contain the tainted peanut butter.

There is probably something on their website, but here is a link to the FDA's page, complete with all known peanut butter-related recalls:

I would be wary about buying anything "peanut butter flavored" right now.

I also posted this on my web log w/a list of the foods or treats.
I'm glad I didn't see JIF on that list. Me and Bubba both eat that brand.
Hi gang...

As a PetSmart employee, I'm glad to see we pulled the biscuits off the shelves. One of the things I love about my company is their concern for the pets. There's been no problems with the biscuits: no sick dogs, no evidence of anything wrong. But the simple fact that there ,mightbe something prompted a pre-emptive pulling of merchandise off the shelves.

I'm very concerned about the pb situation in general since this is a second salmonella problem within a year or so. Of course, there have been recalls on TacoBell, salad stuff...ad infinitum! Hopefully, we'll see the FDA get tougher on their restrictions.

In the meantime, if you have any of the biscuits we've pulled, return them to your local PetSmart for a full refund.
I like PetSmart - but maybe I'm biased because I worked at one during grad school. :) I was working there when the huge dog food recall happened, a couple of years ago. They are really proactive about making sure that potentially dangerous items get pulled from the shelves.
