So as most of you know, Franklin won a modeling contest to appear in an ad for PLAY Pet beds. Well I FINALLY (after 2 months) got a few of the photos from the shoot. I'm not allowed to share them all until the ad comes out, but I have permission to share 1 or 2. In all honesty, the photos weren't that great (Franklin was great IN them though! Lol) so there are only 1 or 2 that I even WANT to share.

BUUUUUT Franklin had another photo shoot with my friend who is a pet photographer and those pictures were OUTSTANDING! Here is a link to a blog with some of the pictures from that shoot:

and if you like what you see, there are more here:

AJ is truly a talented photographer and I am SOOOOOOO lucky to have done 4 shoots with him now. Franklin is a supermodel so AJ loves to work with him when trying out new lenses for his camera.

Those are wonderful photos! Your friend captured the true Corgi essence!

The bed is ok i would rather buy the dog though * * that is if they are trying sell something ;)

lol yeah I guess they probably shouldn't use such an ADORABLE model lol, he is just a distraction from the item being sold :-P Maybe that's why  half of his pictures part of his face is sort of blurred out....hmmm makes perfect sense now...

wow! so much emotion in the photos. franklin is darling and works the camera.  i LOVE all the pictures.  i'm practicing my photography on my tri color Morgan.  something about those masked faces just make for beautiful portraits.

Those pictures are awesome!!  Mine always has been pretty good with cameras too.  Maybe it's Corgi thing!!  Was the photo session in Davis?  I don't recognize any of the scenery.  Beautiful background, beautiful dog!  Really, great photos!  If the price wasn't so expensive, I would have your friend take pic of mine too.  :(

Yeah they were done at the UC Davis arboretum. And actually his prices are pretty low compared to other pet photographers, generally rates are between $300-$600 depending on the photographer and the photos aren't always as great, but I totally understand in this economy not having $150 for a photo session. The photographer who took the bed photos charges $450 a session and his pictures don't even begin to compare to AJ's.

Wow.  Now $150 doesn't sound too bad!  The pictures your friend took looks so much better than the dog bed photos.  Well, I'm gonna have to seriously think about coming up with $150 since I really love your photos!!!  Dee Dee is not as "model professional" as Franklin, but she does anything for food!  Ugh, now, I'm gonna have to talk to my husband and see if we can cough up $150 for dog photo shoot.  Wish me luck!  :p

lol Good luck! Yeah I had been searching around for costs of photo shoots before I met AJ and I was blown away at how much photographers were asking! I couldn't find much in the Sacramento area except at Petco Unleashed and their photos were REALLY bad (out of focus, plain white background, badly posed) and they still were asking a lot for very amateur looking pictures.

This place charges $600 for outdoor photos!

and in all honesty even though they are outdoor they still look REALLY posed! Lol. I have an album on my page entitled purple collar pet photography. The first probably 15-20 photos were from Franklin's first shoot when he didn't know what a camera was. You can see how they still turned out quite well, as long as your dog is treat motivated you can probably get shots just as good as Franklin's! Or if he likes to play there he can get great shots too. He was able to get great shots of all 12 of our rescue dogs and 8 rescue cats at my school this year and as you know, cats don't pose! lol Neither do dogs with no obedience training! Here are those shots (there is a link to the dog pictures in the description on the top):

as a p.s. AJ has offered a $50 print credit to anyone who is referred to him by me!! So if you do end up setting up a shoot, tell him I sent you!

Even better!!!  I am seriously, seriously close to doing it!!!!!!!  I think I'll do it once I get my tax return!  :))  Thanks Melissa & Franklin!!!

awesome :-D remember to tell him I sent you so you can get that print credit!

Dino is proud to know such a good looking boy. Great pictures  Keep this post on top
