So we brought Tigger home today. He is 8 weeks and one day old. He was weaned from his mother at 6 weeks ( =[!!!). when we went to see him at 6 weeks we noticed he had a case of diarrhea. We thought it was caused from the change to hard food. so (two weeks later) we brought him home to find out he has the same issue. so naturally im very worried. the breeder has been feeding him Eukanuba small breed and that's what we were feeding him. he was still sick so i mixed in alittle rice afterwards it was a little harder but still not healthy looking. So I went and bought a hollistic dog food called Blue for puppies and I went over everything with the representitive of Blue and so on and so forth but i was wondering if anyone had any other advice???? I understand it could be food allergies but i'm still worried...

the first thing i would do is get a fecal test done for parasites, mainly giardia. puppies get it often and it's easily treated.

spencer had puppy diarrhea and he was treated for giardia. that didn't fix the issue. but then i shrunk down how much i was feeding him and instantly his poop firmed up

other things that i have heard help are bland chicken and rice, or a teaspoon of canned pumpkin.

good luck!!!

tigger is adorable!
Yeah, bland chicken and rice is what my puppy is on right now to help her diarrhea issues. I'd definitely have him checked for parasites/viruses/worms. Luckily Charlie's tests came back negative, so the vet recommended that we put her on a diet of strictly boiled chicken and rice. He said to strip the chicken from the skin and fat and mix it about 50/50 and continue to feed it to her until her poo is regular for a couple days. Then to ease her onto a new kibble, preferably one that's lower in fat. He said that the fat might be causing her diarrhea, or allergies. So we're going to try Solid Gold puppy, since it's pretty low in fat, once the bland diet regulates her lol. If that doesn't work, then we're supposed to go for allergy tests :(
Hopefully your pup doesn't have allergies to anything, and his problem will be easily fixed. Good luck! :)
Yeah, I would definitely get him tested for parasites. Stanley had Coccidia as a puppy and once he got on medicine, it cleared up in about a couple of weeks. Good luck!
