Hello!
Emma is now getting closer and closer to the 3 month mark and at 6 months I plan to have her spayed.
My step mom says she wishes that she had let her westhighland white terrier have a litter before her spay, and she has heard that letting a girl dog have a litter before her spay can help relax her and keep her from having anxiety attacks later in life.
I took our other dog, Sebastian, our shih-tzu mix to the vet for his neuter this morning, the vet told me that letting her at least have one heat cycle can help prevent urinary tract problems later in life, but having a litter probably wont make a difference one way or another.
I would like to know what everyones thoughts are on this. Does anyone have any experiences they would like to share? I just want as many opinions as possible because I want to make sure that I make a wise decision regarding Emma's health.
