Last night Wyatt vomited about 3 hours after he ate his dinner. I could see his undigested kibble in the vomit, and it was brown and chunky (gross, sorry). He was a little worn out afterward, but still playful and behaving normally. I made sure he drank plenty of water and gave him a few small ice cubes as well. This morning he had a normal stool and was his normal rascally self. Was this just regurgitation? Should I be worried? He's never vomited before, so this definitely caught us off-guard. On a side note, he was getting into EVERYTHING on his walk yesterday: grass, dirt, etc.

Hi Chelsea and Dan, the vomit was probably caused by the grass he ingested, continue to monitor his water intake, should be no biggie.

No worries, Charlie does the same thing. Sometimes it's something they ate outside, other times it's from too vigorous of play shortly after eating (that would happen with Charlie especially, so now we don't play after meals, even if he wants to, but wait 10-20 minutes first.

I should note that vomit should concern you if it's frothy liquid or just spit/watery; that can mean an obstruction somewhere in their throat/stomach/intestines.

My Ella did this too and I noticed something wierd in it.  It turned out that she had ingested part of the lining of my tennis shoe!  I have to keep my eye on her.  She has a thing for spongey, foam-type materials but is getting better!

Just keep your eye on Wyatt for the next 5 days after that if he is eating as normal forget about it- my last puppy got it inside his lungs & it cause a escalation:((( in his illness he was a weak little pup not healthy like Wyatt... Its probably nothing:)))

Thank you for your insight, everyone. He has not vomited since and has been his energetic self ever since. He's slurping up his water as I type this. :)
