My dog is having a lot of reverse sneezing attacks. The vet said to try benadryl, but that hasn't seemed to help. He seems to be starting to feel a little worn down from all the attacks and this morning cough/gagged up bloody bubbles. All the information I've found says not to worry about the attacks, but the bloody stuff bothers me. Any hints?

Ein had a period where he would do the reverse sneezing a fair amount during but now only happens once in a great while. I would definitely contact your vet again and let him know about the bloody bubbles. The reverse sneezing isn't cause for worry but blood imo should be universally looked into.
Call you vet about the bloody stuff, have you check inside his mouth and see if the blood originated from the oral cavity or further down? Let us know what the doc said.
