Sawyer

Just got a Pembroke pup on Friday, her name is Sawyer, she is 12 weeks old and she is a little ball of joy. Very loving and loves to play, especially with other animals.

Right now we're waking up at 6:30am, eating under half a cup of Royal Canin mini puppy food at 8:30..lots of trips outside, and then dinner (same amount) around 5:30pm and bed around 10:30. She's also being crate trained.

As a this is my first time as a pet own, I would love any advice you have as experienced Corgi owners. Mostly information that when you first got your Corgi you wish you would have known. Also, please let me know if our schedule should be adjusted at all.

Oh, and take tons of pictures. They grow so fast. Pretty soon she'll be an awkward adolescent, so get cute pics of her now. Also, if you are a first-time dog owner as you say, I suggest finding a fun, positive-based puppy kindergarten class. There should be lots of cookies, lots of praise, lots of puppies playing in a controlled setting in well-matched small groups, and no choke chains or prong collars. (both have a place, but not in puppy k).

Got the photos covered :) I'm a concert photographer in my spare time :) .. I've been looking around for puppy classes.. Fairly expensive, but still looking for the right one.

Are the petsmart ones really as bad as I've read?

Totally depends on your PetSmart. Some are ok, some not from what I've heard. Go watch a class and see for yourself. :-)

Everyone's given you great advice...prepare yourself for how much love you are getting ready to experience! Corgis make every day an adventure! Trying at times, but mostly fun! I absolutely love the pictures...can't wait to see more.

I've noticed she's biting a lot.. and when I tell her no she just gets more upset and tries to bite even more. On top of that she seems to want to rip up the carpet more than she wants to play with her toys. Any solutions for this?

I've been slowing weening Sawyer off the Royal Cainin to Precise Plus Puppy (http://precisepet.com/dog-formulas/precise-plus/plus-puppy/) and I've noticed her stool getting loose. Now with what I've read, I've asked my local pet food store to order me a bag of Merrick Puppy Plate (http://www.merrickpetcare.com/store/detail.php?c=14&s=20321). I'm mostly worried about switching her to two different foods in such a short period. Is it normal for stools to become loose like this when switching to a higher quality food?
