Toki started about 2 weeks ago scratching at her nose. She gets her paw almost in her mouth and then starts scratching at her gum's or her inner cheek, we can't always tell. It's not violent scratching and she doesn't seem to have any marks or cuts in her mouth or any irritation that would cause her to scratch. But it's been going on for awhile now and I don't want it to flare up into anything bad or infected. Any advice?

carefully examine her, are there any redness? scratch, loss of hair, tartar in her mouth / muzzle area. Pay attention to her and make a note when it happens, is it after playing a toy? did she roll in anything? Then you can determine if it's behavioural or allergen related.
It's normally right when she wakes up and before bed. We did notice a slight darkness around one area of her gums. Not sure if that's just normal coloring though.
Frosty does this every night before bed, and sometimes during the day when he is bored, but he uses his back feet. Then he gets mad at them for attacking his face, so then he attacks his feet (rolling around and grunting), and then when he gets really worked up, he jumps up and fraps around a couple circles, and then looks at us like "what are you lookin at?" Sometimes he forgets that he was attacking his feet and starts chasing his tail. There are some videos posted on my page of him doing this. We think with Frosty this is a new behavioral thing he picked up, but might not be the case with your girl. Have you tried calling your vet? A lot of times they can give you advice over the phone or they can at least let you know if it is something they want you to come in for.
Hello,

Do you walk her near any open fields/weeds?? I am asking because she might possibly have a foxtail (a dry weed) up in her nose. Please ask your Veterinarian to check it for you. good luck, Tucker
