Second Male Corgi Questions

Winston made 9 months yesterday and since everything went so well with him we really want to get another one. He house trained well (no accidents in the house in the past 2 months!) and is such a good dog! The only thing he does is nip at our hands and ankles, and does this scratching thing on our legs, arms, backs etc. So I guess my first question is will he grow out of this? Also, is it better to introduce a new puppy early on in Winny's life or should we wait longer?

For the first part of your question, unwanted behaviors seldom get better on their own and usually escalate. Obedience classes will help with general control issues such as this one. For the second part of your question, I recommend waiting until Winny is 18 months old and then ONLY if you are delighted with how he behaves and interacts, otherwise postpone until you are. In the meantime, as you work through his teenage stages, looking for your future pup can be a lot of fun, without the drawbacks.

Some nipping is acceptable when they're little, but he's way past that age IMO and he should know better than to put teeth on skin by now. It's definitely not something he's just going to outgrow at this point, and I would see it as an undesirable behavior that needs further training. I agree with Anna on taking a good positive based obedience class.

I'd also wait until he's at least a year old and you have the unwanted behaviors under control, or you will probably end up with two dogs with the same issues. The second dog will learn a lot from the older one and that includes any naughty behaviors.
