Our 3 year old Corgi has had 2 seizures, both were during his allergy season when our vet had him on Benadryl. He said that Benadryl can cause seizures in some dogs (usually in ones that already have a disposition for them). So, obviously we took him off of Benadryl.

Today he was sleeping when suddenly, in a whir of motion and noise he was on the floor, and down the hallway before I could see what happened. I went after him, and found him standing, but his hind quarters were shaking. A month ago he pulled a muscle in his back leg, so I thought maybe his ungraceful dismount from the couch had hurt his back leg again, thus the shaking. So I brought him to the couch and rubbed his hind quarters until he insisted on standing up and walking toward the back door. He was still shaking a little, but I followed him. In the family room he stopped, and bowed low to the ground, his front legs straight out in front of him, then one of the legs came up, almost above his head, and the seizure started. His entire body was shaking, his eyes were bulged with more white than brown showing, his jaws were clenched and he was breathing in short snorts. This sort of thing I had seen before. So I sat with him, holding him and talking softly. Finally the violently jerking motions subsided and I took him back to the couch, but his head was shaking like his back legs had been earlier.

I made sure to look at the clock when the shaking started and when it finally subsided. The whole thing lasted 22 minutes and I would estimate that the violent seizure was about 8 minutes of that. Now that it is over, he is his usual self He wanted to go outside, where he ran around and brought me his favorite ball to play with.

He has a vet appointment in the morning, but I was hoping that in the mean time someone could offer some advice. Have you ever seen this?  Does this sound like a seizure, or palsy or a nerological disorder? Any suggestions on specific things to ask the vet tomorrow?
