I had our Sophie spayed today.  I pick her up from vet in about 30 min. Was a tough decision to have her spayed, although I did not have a choice with my shedule. Anyone have any after surgery helpful tips for me?

I know the vet wil tell me quite a bit, but anyone have anything positive they did that was a little extra to help theirs through?

Thanks!

I stocked up on chewies when Becca got spayed. It was very hard to keep her inactive. Having new things to chew on seemed to help with her frustration. If Sophie is used to jumping up on the couch, be careful. They are quicker and sneakier than you expect. I didn't need a cone for Becca, she left her incision alone.

If there are any pieces of furniture she likes to jump on, block them off if you can (I ended up putting suitcases in front of our couch so Emma couldn't jump on it).  Also be sure to carry her (carefully) up and down any stairs for the first several days.

Snickers has been confined because of her knee surgery and I used a tether instead of an xpen to keep her from frapping or going up the stairs (although she has defeated me a couple of times). I tied her to he favorite spot by the glass door so she can look outside.
