Brian has rough paw pads that scratch my skin when he paws at me.  Would it be okay if I massaged some sweet almond oil onto his paws?

I read that dogs perspire through their paws and was wondering if it'll affect their ability to perspire?  Also, if it's safe for Brian to lick it off?

On the sweet almond oil bottle, it states: "Almond Oil is easily absorbed and won't clog pores, promoting clear, soft, healthy skin."  So maybe it won't clog the pores on his paws?

What do you think?

Hi AJ, yup, it'll be fine, it's often used to clean ears :)
but don't ever believe anything said on any label... caveat sucker... can you imagine any scientific test that would determine whether anything 'clogs the pores' on a dog's pads? I can't either.
My dogs have tough pads, too. I want 'em that way.
If you really want to make friends with your dog, rub butter into their pads. Or bacon grease. :)
