Does the undercoat determine the color of the pup? I noticed Freya has a gray undercoat on her back. My friend that has had corgis all her life told me that Freya will most likely darken based on the color of her undercoat.

So far, she has darkened. Her head was a bright orange that has since dulled and there is a light dusting of black on her head and face. Her back had one spot of black that has since turned into a dusting of black much like the poster who was questing about their corgi being sable or not.

Her dad is a black head tri and she has two sibling of the same coloring.

I also read that if the inner ear can be good indicator of hair coloring. She does have a dusting of black in her ears. At the moment she looks like a little fox.
