West Coast Breeder. Tails.

I have decided on a Pembroke, their personality seems most suitable for my needs but recently I have been getting a very specific OCD for a Pembroke with a tail. I have read up on several of these topics here but was hoping anyone could make a suggestion of somebody to contact on the west coast for Pembroke puppies with a tail.

I understand I could ask some breeders to not dock and pay for the puppy ahead but I would rather pick, or have my dog picked for me, based on their personality.

I will continue to look into rescues but getting a puppy is important to me for this dog.

I love Cardigans but a Pembroke is more the social dog I need to live in Los Angeles.

Any direction I can be pointed would be great!

Alternatively - if there are enough people on the west coast looking for a Pembroke with a tail perhaps we can get a breeder to not dock several puppies which leaves more options for those people than just the one pre paid.

I've never seen a breeder here on the west coast that didn't dock. If you really want a tail, and found a breeder who would agree to this, then your only option may be to choose a pup before you know their personality. There are several breeders here in N. California that time and time again produce the most wonderful puppies with the best personalities so it wouldn't be an issue for me to just take any pup from their litter. The Golden Gate Pembroke Welsh Corgi club would be a great group to contact. Most are familiar with puppies available within the entire group and may be able to guide you in a direction for a breeder who isn't docking. There is a similar club in So Cal I believe.

http://www.pittmanhome.com/ She is in Washington and will leave a tail on for you--she also has fluffies now and again. But you would have to chose before the personality was apparent, as Melissa said.

I wasn't very impressed with this breeder when I spoke with her, but to each their own.
