What games do your Corgis play?

I have two PWCs that are half brother and sister (same father) and I do get the question all the time. The male (Rylee - tricolored) is 7 months, the female (Delila - red/white) is 19 months.

They are fun to watch play - they invent games to entertain themselves (and anyone else who is watching)! These are some of them:

- Tag FRAPing - The dog in the lead FRAPS to a piece of furniture (like an end table or the bed) touches it (or jumps on it) turns around, runs around the room then goes back to touch it again. The other dog follows. Lots of tripping and falling over each other.

- Run in circles around a piece of furniture or a person and change directions every few minutes. One dog follows the other. Lots more tripping and falling over each other.

- One dog runs around the other while the other barks, barks, barks....

- "I'm in charge" - One dog TRIES to pin the other with ears back, teeth exposed and lots of growling - I am in charge, I am in charge - the "pinned dog" wiggles out...and the cycle repeats itself.

- "You have the toy I want" - Applies to any toy the other dog has - the one with it teases (noses it to) the other dog, then grabs it and runs - the one without the toy barks, barks, barks...

- "I can bark louder than you can" - Both dogs sit or lay down on the floor and bark at each other (maybe they are actually having a conversation).

- Tug of war with lots of growling - One dog ususally lets go and then barks, barks, barks....

- Nose things downs the stairs and race after them (I have not seen either dog get to the bottom first).

Once in a while they play with the same toy at the same time (or destroy it together if it is a stuffed animal).

Sometimes they both stop, take a quick cat nap and start all over again. This can go on for hours during the day. They both pass out about 8 pm at night and sleep for 10 hours.

For those who want two dogs - it was not easy to get to this point where they can play so nicely - but it was worth it.

Soccer, mostly, but also bridge, pinochle, and sometimes chess.
Al has a new ball game, "Keep Away". He can herd the soccer ball all around the playfield by himself, and I think he tries to keep it away from me.

My corgi lives for tug-o-war and I tell him he must have been born playing it. He can play it for hours and even when he is dead tired, he will still have energy to play that. Crazy boy! Noodles also loves to knock things down the stairs either with his nose or he hits the object with his paw. I have to laugh because his head bounces up and down with every step. And yes, he then goes flying down the stairs to pick up the toy and start the game all over again. Noodles also likes to play ball with himself. He will hit the tennis ball with his paw and then chase after it. He loves throwing his stuffed animals in the air and pouncing on them. I'm sure Noodles has bunny and cat somewhere in his genes. He sure is a blast to have around the house and very entertaining.
