Agility Corgis

For the agile Corgi--whether it's to rein in that rambunctious energy, hone in that intelligence, or just to have something to do--it's AGILITY!

Looking for classes in the Chicagoland area. We have 2 corgis.. Blitzen, who is a therapy dog. He visits the hospitals here and loves it. He thinks the world exists to pet him. Pilgrim, who I want to train as an agility dog, but I dont know where to start. He is still a puppy but has so much energy and loves to run and jump. So far he can sit and stay (if only I could teach him not to bark when I am taking him outside). We have weaving poles ordered so we will see how he does with that.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's great that you've joined the club!! But I always tell everyone, don't forget to take advantage from learning from as many handlers as possible, even if they're not in your club. I've learned (mostly from showing horses) to take what everyone tells me, process it, and learn if and how I can apply it to me and my dog. Have fun!!!

Congratulations! That is good advice to join the agility club. The instructor of our class is a member of our local club and Charlie and I plan on joining soon.

Eddie and Ollie just got the invite for our local agility club, and they're the only corgis in the group. It's nice to be practicing next to people that have won national championships and get advice from them. I encourage everyone in agility to locate your local agility club as soon as your dogs are getting to competition level. Both of my boys will be competing in October!

They are a cute bunch. Welcome to the group. I'm new in agility. I've always wanted to do it and I have the perfect boy to do it with now. Charlie is a Corgi that is always on the go go go!!! I know he loves agility just by the excitement whenever it is time to go to class. He literaly drags me into the class ring.

Hi, I just joined this group and thought I'd give a quick intro. I have been playing agility for longer than I've had Corgis- but now Cardigans are my main breed. I have two Cardis- Wicca is a five year old Tri who loves agility more than life, and would play all day every day if I let her. Pixel is just a year old and has been doing foundation and puppy agility stuff since I brought her home as a pup. I also have Vito, a Pembroke/Border Collie cross who is pretty laid back and doesn't play much agility, and a Pyrenean Shepherd named Boone who plays agility aswell. They keep me busy!

I am excited to have found this group! I love to talk Corgi, and agility so this is a great combination!
