I have a work/vacation trip to Austin the weekend of the 31st. I'll be free during the days, as I'll be going to attend a film festival in the evenings.

I'm bringing my corgi because he loves to travel, but I'm not sure where I can take him. I'd love some input on:

Activities
- not dog parks though, as he's dog aggressive (he loves girls and most neutered males though)
- concerned about the heat (we're coming from Houston and he's been indoors nonstop)
- good place to eat outdoors in shade or hang out by water... I'm game for traveling all around Austin

Hotels
- I've seen many that are $65-$90 that look good that allow pets - but they aren't all forthcoming on any extra fees
- Any neighborhoods to avoid?

Thanks!!

Austin is extremely pet friendly especially downtown area. Go to the Warehouse District if you want to take him to lunch, Fado's, Dog & Duck and other pet friendly eateries/bars. Opal Devines is another one. It is going to be very hot, bring a doggie bowl for bottled water. There are lots of parks, but the agressiveness and I know because mine is the same way could be an issue, as there are lots of dogs in Austin. Have fun!
Cool thanks! The name Dog & Duck sounds cute.
What's cute is that I looked up Fado's, and it's an irish pub with Guinness all over their website. Think we have to go there because our corgi is named Guinness!
Fado's was great! Their food is so good we went twice. We took a pic of Guinness next to a sign that said 'Guinness isn't good for you!' Awww.
