District 9

wow, I went to see the movie without any expectation. LOVED IT.

I'm glad that it is not your average alien movie, the story was well written, the filming style is great, if cloverfield was shot it like this, it would have been much tolerated. The choice of the movie location setting was great. The CG was awesome, way better than GI joe / transformers. Loved the mecca design. I am very satisfied with the weaponry in this movie. If only the HALO project didn't die, we would be watching it right now with the same caliber :(

I can't wait for the sequel.

We loved it too. This despite so many things that just didn't make sense. (Why didn't the dead ship fall down?) But those things just made us engage more, trying to figure them out. One thing I was definitely not expecting was for it to turn into a buddy movie. Pretty cool.

I haven't seen it yet :'( I'm a huge Blomkamp supporter though so I'm super happy to see someone recognize him! Yay! I remember watching his original documentary and getting blown away. He is a genius and will be the next big thing! He is just the thing we needed to revitalize these stupid summer movies! Anyway, I can't wait to see it, I've heard nothing but wonderful things! And go halo movie! I head rumors of cg... I thought he nailed halo in his movies, it was like real life game play omg! Oh no, now I'm all giddy for odst woohoo!

We just saw District 9 and enjoyed it. There were a few little things that were not explained but overall it was a very good movie. Visually it was amazing and it was so much better than I was expecting it to be. The only thing that was a little disappointing was how misleading the previews were. They made it seem like the aliens and humans were having a war and kept showing scenes with the robot fighting which was in actuality only one small part at the end of the film. Will there be a District 10?
