We wanted a Corgi for our son's first dog. I found a beautiful male that I thought was a perfect. I have never had male dogs and probably did something(s) wrong, but this pup grew ever aggressive and proved to be an inapropriate family pet as it would not respond to my training let alone that of the nine year old for whom he was intended. It took a while, but we found him a home with a lady who came all the way from Mississippi to adopt him. We have seen the dog over the years and his new owner agrees that he's got a bravo attitude and that she has made major adjustments to acclimate him. Not too long after I tried again with a female PWC who is now seven years old. This little female is very shy and though very sweet, hardly energetic. She never exhibited the characteristics we think of as typical of many Corgis. She seems to have no herding instinct, would never chase a ball or retrieve anything. If we try to walk her around the block she will tire, sit and refuse to go any further! I've sought advice as I never had Corgis, only terriers and shepherds. Both of our experiences with this breed have been unexpected and both dogs have almost opposite dispositions.

Scout is 1 1/2 years old. She weighs 17 pounds. She grew nicely to about 8-9 months and just stopped. She hasn't gained an ounce since then.

Mazie has started stealing bits of grain from the horse's feed pan! not sure how good that is for her but my horse gets a supplement for her joints. Mazie could benefit from that!

My Mazie loves raw carrots! We keep a bag of baby carrots in fridge just for her.

I think it is so funny. My 10 yr old Carin Terrier is a pig and likes anything that you give him. I will give him fruits vegtables whatever and he eats it. My two Corgis, which before I bought them did the research and most things that I read about the bread is that they have weight problems. They are suposed to like to eat. However, I find I have picky dogs. My female not so bad she pretty much eats most things but my male Rocy...OMG ....I have been through so many different dog foods just trying to find something he likes. Finally found Iambs he likes that. He only like Puproni treats. Having such a picky dog I dont think I am going to have the weight problem.
