What about Saturday (April 20th) at a dog park? I am completely flexible on the time and location. I hope more people will get involved! I added the Las Vegas Corgis on facebook and have been envious of the fun meetups they do.

Hello Sarah and Bella Boo!! WELCOME!!!! I started this group in 2009. We did have 1 meet-up and had about 6 corgis. It never had to much interest  Lets see if we can change that!! I would love to have a Play Date!! What fun that would be! What date and place did you have in mind? Sounds like fun to me!!

Hello everyone,
I don't know if anyone still follows this group but I would love to have a corgi get together. My corgi Bella Boo and I are in the Carson City area but would be flexible to have a play date in Reno or Tahoe. I think now that the weather is getting nicer it would be a great time for some corgi fun!

Hi. I have two Corgis - 2 year old male and 7 month old female. I spend half my time in South Lake Tahoe. It would be nice to meet up with other Corgi owners. What great dogs!

A message from Robin & Gordon to all members of Northern Nevada Corgis on MyCorgi.com!

Hello everyone! I am new, so I hope this is okay to do... :)

The Reno Celtic Celebration is looking for some Celtic dog breeds for this year's Animal Village and the Corgi is one of the requested breeds! This is a chance for people to meet and find out about these wonderful dogs and a way to be part of the festivities. The website is www.renoceltic.org, with the pet information under "Celtic Animals." The celebration is on October 3rd and 4th at Bartley Ranch Regional Park. Maybe this could be a fun way to get together with other Corgis and Corgi families!

Hi Everyone!!
How is your spring going? Other than WET!! I think it time to have another Meet-Up :-)
How does 6-20 look for everyone? Let's see if we can find a place date and time everyone can make it!
We could meet up at Lake Tahoe. OR maybe the New Dog Park in North Carson. OR my vote is a swim party at Topaz Lake for the day. We could all bring something and have a potluck.
Let me know what you all think!!
We need a new club picture!
Put your "2 cents" in and let's see if we can make this happen!

I also have been fortunate to take Tucker with me to work from 8 am to 2 pm. Then my boys were home by 3:15. Tucker spent 1 to 1 1/2 hrs in a kennel (not crate) which was mainly his nap time anyway. He is now fully house trained, uses the doggy door and is great home with the other dogs.

From experience with our rescue corgi Lodie...More than a 2 to 3 hrs is to long to be locked up in a crate. We rescued Lodie a few yrs ago. He was subjected to being locked in a crate a majority of his life. He was 15 months when we acquired him. He had spent all his time in a crate. Only let out to potty and eat. So I have a soft spot in my heart for any dog that is subjected to those conditions. He is a great dog. But he has a lot of emotional issues because of his neglect.

On the up side, Carolyn is right they make exceptional family dogs. Not so much for real small children but school age and up, sure thing. We put a outdoor collapsible kennel in our kitchen for Tucker. It is much larger than a crate and enough room to place a piddle pad. It was a bit of an eye sore for a while but it was much better than a travel crate. Just do your homework and see what works the best for you and your family. But also above and beyond make sure you can meet the needs of your puppy as well. Hope it all works out for you! ;-)

Welcome to the club. I'm afraid I can't be much help. I have always taken Scooter everywhere, even to work. 6 or 7 hours in a crate for a young puppy is a long time. I can tell you they make wonderful family dogs!!

Hello, I live in placer county california. I have been considering adding a corgi to our family. I have never owned one before and would like some input from corgi parents. I work 8 hrs a day,the kids are home after school Is that too long of a time to have a pup in a crate? Please help me. Thanks Michel
