Haven't been there yet, but we're staying at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach this weekend for a wedding and they're dog friendly. We were able to get a good rate through priceline (Newport Beach - 4 star hotel), so the pet fee (one time $75 deep cleaning fee plus $10 per night per pet) won't hurt too bad. It's suppossed to be pretty close to Newport Beach and Balboa Island. And we're gonna try to stop by the Huntington Beach corgi meetup on sunday morning!

I'll give you an update when we get back. And don't forget that all Motel 6s are pet friendly.

so we just got back. it was a great stay. the hotel is totally dog friendly - lots of walking paths and grassy areas for them to run around (but not on the golf course), poo poo bag dispensers, and they even have a special doggie room service menu! the location is great too. we had a decent view of the back bay, but not all the rooms do. theres a great path that runs along the entire back bay that is great for walks.

we took the dogs to the costa mesa bark park (10 min away), which is really nice. and we were able to make it to the Huntington Beach corgi meetup on sunday morning (15 min away) where we met about 12 other corgis :) we also stopped by the Huntington Beach dog beach (15 min away) on the way home.

overall, we would totally recommend it. its also near fashion island, which i hear is dog friendly. there are other places we looked at (HB hyatt regency, HB best western), but those were lot more pricier. overall, the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach was a great value in a prime location. the hotel itself could use a little updating (see tripadvisor.com reviews), but for the dogs, it couldn't be more perfect.
