Does anyone know of some beaches in Southern Cali where you can take your dog on or off leash? I'm close to the coast but the local beach here doesn't allow pets at all on the sand or near the water! Help?
In San Diego area: off leash beach just south of Solana Beach. Just south of Via de la Valle. Can get crowed on the weekends, during the week, it's very nice.
P & P loves the Huntington Beach (Goldenwest & PCH). We did not enjoy the Long Beach dog beach, the dogs are restricted to a very small area of the beach, where as Huntington Beach is very open and space is great! :D
Just south of Pt. Magu- north of Zuma in Malibu. Winter time is best w/ no Rangers around. LA beaches have no dogs on beach laws- orange and ventura R OK
If your willing to make the drive to Malibu Leo Carillo State beach allows dogs past the third life guard stand and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! You have to keep them on a leash but just grab a 15 or 30 ft training leash and nobody will bother you. WAY cleaner than Huntington and a little more condusive to the owners being able to catch some sun and relaxation!
Spencer is a big fan of Leo Carillio north of Zuma. If it's not too crowded we will let him off leash for a little bit. Hungtington a great but a bit crowded on the weekends. Thinking we might try Long Beach next.
Fran, have you been to the PV beach recently? I hear they are ticketing of leash dogs now.
