We have been to Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda and really enjoyed it, lots of shade and very scenic.

The local park in Englewood (near Suncoast Humane Society) is fairly nice, divided into large and small dog sections with ater fountains, baggies, benches, and a small selection of tennis balls and such. Not much shade but lots of room.

Does anyone have any reviews of the other local dog parks/beaches? We are looking forward to visiting the one in Venice and some in Sarasota.
The 17th street park in Sarasota was great, lots of space and shade!
Emerson Point Park, at the west end of Palmetto is a nive place. Several trails to work with lots of shade!
We have done the dog park in Port Charlotte. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and we don't go there anymore.

Punta Gorda is nice. They have a great small dog area, balls, fresh water, doggie bags and some shade.

Venice beach is nice. Most of the large dogs are off lead so Molly spends a lot of time watching. But we've had a great time everytime we've been.

Fisherman's Village is really nice. It's a great socilization opportunity. Lots of people, lot of activity.

We have brought her to Panera, you can eat outside with your dogs. It's been fun. Small dogs, especially corgi's, get a lot of attention.

Emerson Point Park sounds like a great place, especially in the winter time. We are also looking forward to going to Sarasota to check out the new rails to trails project there.
