About Me:
I am a grandma, wife and mom. My empty nest was filled by 2 wonderful corgis. Both have passed over the Rainbow Bridge and so has my sweet doberman, Misty. We lost our sweet corgi Izzy suddenly due to liver failure April of 2016.Our Cardigan, Watson is two and a total social butterfly and licking goofball. Supposedly Cardis are more serious than pems but not our Watson. We were very fortunate to be able to add a beautiful Wentworth Pembroke the end of April. Lexi is a tri colored corgi and just as cute as can be. Watson is in seventh heaven playing constantly with Lexi. Corgis are so fun and adaptable! We were able to attend the Florida Corgi picnic last November. It was awesome seeing about 250 corgis fraping around. Our cats, Cheech and Chong add to the hair and fun at our house. I love to walk in the Lake Lansing North Park in the woods and travel with the dogs and my husband in our RV.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Lexi is a tri colored Pembroke. She is still a baby but quite amazing as a smarty pants.
Watson is two year old Cardigan that alternates between being a little cuddlier to being absolutely wild. We also have two cats that like to cuddle. Life is never dull or hair free at my house.
I had to help my beautiful tri colored corgi, Sparty, over to the Rainbow Bridge after a bout with cancer and my sweet doberman, Misty. We lost Buffy many years ago and recently our sweet Izzy due to liver failure. It was so difficult and a piece of my heart went with them but I feel very lucky to have discovered corgis and this web site of great people.
I have:
Both Pembroke and Cardigan

Hi Bev! We should get together some time and have a corgi play-date. We were just at the Lake Lansing North trails last weekend.
  • Jayne Wagner

    Hi Bev,
Love the name Sparty - we're assuming it's got something to do with MSU?! Welcome!
Jayne and Toddy (we have a weekend farm in SW Mi near St. Joe)
  • Geri & Sidney

Welcome Bev, Sparty and Izzy! The dogs (and even the cat) look so happy together!
  • Jayne Wagner

Congrats Spartans! Enjoying your photos - Your doberman looks like a sweetheart too

Thanks so much for your advice! How do you know they are exercising too much? We were walking about 2 miles a day, he seemed fine, but I don't want to over do it!
  • Sunni A.

Thanks, we totally want to do some pup classes, but have no idea what to expect! We're definately going to do a serious obedience class when Eddy's 5 months. Are puppy classes really worth the $ until then?? I've always taught my dogs sit / leash / socialization in the past, without classes.
  • Sunni A.

OK thanks for the go-ahead. I felt like I would be called 'the evil neighbor witch' if I refused my puppy, or the kids' parents would disapprove of my selfish "MY PUPPY" attitude. But, on the other hand... I don't care. I'm not friends with those people. Thank you!!
  • Marion and Vern

Thanks for the comment. We are enjoying her immensly. She is such a doll can't believe she is ours! Will probably bore everyone with lots more videos and pictures.
  • Kitty Kirwin

Its loads of fun! At the walgreens 5$. I am hopieng it last. Yes I have Gwenie's picture in my wallet, cell phone, desk computer and on my laptop. So was her older but in heaven brother Jack. You puppys even the Dobie are beautiful too.
  • sunny yoo

    thanks for your wecome!!
i really happy with joining here.
  • Susan Stanton

So what are symptoms of torn ACLs? Sigh. I hate it when the bubby hurts but can't tell me exactly where. Argh!
  • Susan Stanton

May I ask -- did he favor the leg at certain times? B is usually fine when out walking, etc., but favors it after he's been resting. Then, once he walks around a bit, it seems to be back to normal. He's also very responsive to Rimadyl, the anit-inflam his doc gave me (this has happened on and off, and they couldn't pinpoint a diagnosis, but didn't feel anything on manipulating his leg). I know we probably need to do x-rays to confirm/rule out a firm diagnosis, but I'd like to get full info before we do that. Thanks for your help. Your guys are so cute!
  • Amy & Miles

Ok, that's good to know. He'll figure that they are toys or something, until they unleash their fury on him. Yikes. How many cats do you have? We have three.
  • Amy & Miles

Ohhh - I just looked at your pics. I love the one of the dobie, the corgi, and the cat laying in the sun. Also the corgis in the snow. Your little boy is a cutie!
  • Susan Stanton

Thanks. It seems no matter what it is, the treatment is the same, anti-inflams, some supplements, weight control, and rest. So off we go! I just don't like using Rimadyl that much, because of its side effects, so I'm interested to see if anyone has tried Duralactin as an alternative, as it supposedly doesn't have all those side effects. (We had a very bad incident this summer, when Ethel at 6 months ate an entire bottle of Rimadyl, but being Ethel, she survived with no apparent ill effects, thank goodness!)
  • Sir Riley of Pembroke

Riley was so good I could dress him up and he would just sit there. He would do anything for food!
  • Mary Rose Baker

You have very pretty dogs. I am soon going to be picking up a blackheaded tri. I just think yours is the prettiest I've seen. We are looking to rescue a corgi but one of there policies is against those that camp. I thought that was fairly odd. Have you ever heard anything about this? What do you think? I'm starting to think that we may just have to buy one as a puppy from a breeder.
  • Mary Rose Baker

Thankyou I thought I was the only one who thought that was an odd standard for future owners. Camping Corgis, what an idea.
  • Marie Ploof

He was sleeping like that. He'd been digging at his bed for like and hour then he finally got under it and fell asleep. =] I'm glad we got the picture.
  • Karen

    Hi Bev,
Yes lots of people seem to know and HoneyFox when they see one. We started conformation showing classes last night and the first thing someone said to me when we walked in the door was this must be a Honeyfox girl. We had a lovely day when we went to Susan's place to pick her up. I actually wasn't looking for a showdog but that is how it worked out. Showing her has been a lot of fun. Mainly she is just my little shadow, and I have been amazed at how intelligent she is.
  • LaVerne & Shirley

I wondered if the tongue sticking out is a Corgi thing....lol. LaVerne has hers hanging out a LOT!
  • King Koby of the Treasure Coast

Thanks the little guy looks even more miserable noW!! He has an Elizabethan Collar on because he wouldn't stop licking his stitches!!
  • Sunni A.

Oh thanks, I thought "E" stood for electronic... and was like, Gerrrk?! I think my fam always just called them cone collars.
  • Corgibyassociation

I wish I had say in that matter, however Cloud isn't my dog so much as he is my boyfriend's. I just happen to take care of Cloud and live with him. But as for that--no say.
  • Corgibyassociation

I'm going to need it. We both want this to work out. I want it to work out with the least amount of injuries, especially if we try before we officially adopt.
  • Cathi

Thanks Bev, I'll pass it along to my friend,
Many blessings and appreciations to you and yours,
    Cathi
  • Corgibyassociation

Man, the way Freya is, I have to keep her crated. I really hate that as I want her to have some freedom but if she's free she'll want to play with Milo.
  • Ashley Kelty

Thanks for the food advice! We'll have to just try doing that with Miso. I make sure to take it away from her as often as possible, but it's so much struggle just getting her to eat! I will try what you said, giving her food and if she doesn't eat in 15 minutes, pick it up and wait until next feeding time. Thanks again!
  • Incorgiable

Oh don't get me in trouble! Believe me, 4 is too many. We should have our heads examined. It's a good thing there are 4 of us in the family. One for each dog.
  • Corgibyassociation

Yeah, he's a corgi mix. I guess lab? I don't know, he's 30 pounds whatever he's mixed with and terribly sweet. Poor boy, no one looked at him cause the puppies were so abundant. It was a bittersweet day that will continue until he gets adopted.
  • William (Willy)

Hi Bev! Did you go to any of the Michigan corgi meet up's? We went to EL Dog Park last weekend but no one showed up! Willy really loves playing w/ other corgis. By the way, we are getting a dog park started in Meridian Twp at Legg Park. If you are interested in joining the 'friends' group let me know.
  • Meg + Zeby

    Hi Bev,

I actually met you on the Lake Lansing Trail when I was jogging and you were walking both of your corgis! I hope Zeby can meet up with your "kids" at some point!

  • Meg + Zeby

I would love to get the corgis together! Zeby has met Sienna, and they had a good time at the EL dog park. When you are back from vacay let's set something up!
  • Christopher Zincone & Monty!

Thank you for stopping by and commenting on our video! What sweet faces in your picture show!
  • Kendal & Bleu (Chris & Randy)

Loved your pictures, they reminded me of my 2 dogs and our outside stray kitty, they all sit together at the door when outside looking to be fed, also when my daughter's chihauha is here we have the 3 dogs, (daushund #3) sitting all together on the stairs patientily waiting for someone to open the gate to let them come down stairs. They definately are a crew!
  • Chris

If it's open she's happy. We got the stroller because she is such an alpha girl that she behaves badly at the horse shows. This helps keep her contained!
  • William (Willy)

definitely! we have a completely open week (except working during the day). hope your dogs are feeling better today.
  • JH

    Your photos are fabulous.
  • William (Willy)

6:30 sounds great. I leave the office at 4:30 so anytime after that is fine. Hope it doesn't rain! Here's my email address: janegusa@yahoo.com

(or can you just email it on this website? i don't know how this one works)
  • Stephanie & Bonnie Fox

6:30 is great! Let us know if you want us to bring anything.
  • Sabrina

    Thanks for the welcome!
  • Stephanie & Bonnie Fox

Yes I did get your email, thanks! I was so tired this morning, I fell asleep again right after (worked 7p-7a last night) and just woke up. We are definately coming out, can't wait!
  • William (Willy)

So nice to meet you and your family too Bev! Willy had a blast! Unfortunately he isn't as tired as I was hoping that he would be. Maybe we can take them all for a walk on the trails at Lake Lansing N. one of these days. That definitely wears him out!
  • Stephanie & Bonnie Fox

Thank you for having us! We had so much fun and Bon slept like a rock when we got home! It would be nice to get together again sometime, maybe on the trails with jane and willy?
  • Mickey

Hi Bev, I've finally really sat down and looked back thru some of the msgs I've gotten about Sophie and looking at your pics, I'd swear I were looking at my Sophie. Where did you get her? Sophie is from Pettiwood (Pat Schilling). Next time around I'm going to get 2 corgis - I love them together. It's like Disneyland, you're just always smiling. I wanted to add that I'm going to do some swimming with Sophie. She loves it and it would be good rehab when she's walking alittle better. OH! and love your Dobie - my friend had a male and he was a loverboy. Have a good, cool weekend. June
  • LuvMyCorgis

    Thank you, Bev.
  • Amanda & Tuck

It's funny that not only do Izzy and Tucker look a bit alike but it sounds like they have similar personalities too. I was reading how she is gentle with plush toys - Tuck has never destuffed his! He carries them around, snuggles them, and loves the squeaking - he breaks the squeakers but never tears them apart. Anyway hope all is well with you!
  • Amanda & Tuck

Oh Tucker is definitely not above getting in trouble either! He is gentle but still too smart for his own good - and not to be trusted around shoes! :)
