Yeah I wish I'd known everyone here back when I still lived in Orlando, I moved here from there over 3 years ago. I've lived in downtown, winter park, and all over! I was obsessed with the breed before I began my quest for kiyo too.
Hi Alison, welcome. Hope you can learn from some of our experiences, I love this site. You are right about Corgi's, they are a wonderful breed. They are a handful, but also quite a perfect fit as a family member. Everyone keeps saying how you want more after you get one. I agree, mine is only 4 1/2 months old and still a handful of puppy stuff but I can see how they would say that. The breeder where Max came from just had a new litter of 7, they are three weeks old and are sooo cute on her web site. I actually asked my husband if we want another one. ha Hope you find your perfect little Oden.
corgies are awesome! you'll love your new pet. If you get a male corgie, it's a good idea to fix him if he's going to be a family pet. That way he's not as aggressive. Just a tip!
Thank you Alison,
We encourage you to get a Corgi, they're awesome dogs and great companions. Check out the Corgi Rescue Society, you may find one that needs you! Cubbie has been a wonderful addition to our busy family. I hope you find a cutie pie! (We prefer the tri-color black ones, but blondies are cute too!)
Welcome to mycorgi.com! I'm a wisher for corgi too! :) I hope you get one of the best breeds in the world, from my point of view, and I hope that you get the perfect one! By the way... I see you have joined my group Corgi Wanters! Good choice of group! :) All of us in Corgi Wanters are mostly in deep need of corgi! And you qualify from what I know of you right now! :) Welcome to mycorgi.com and my group! Hope you enjoy it here! :)
Aw, the pics above are adorable! Thanks for adding me as a friend on here. I hope to see you and more meet ups and such! Its great to meet any corgi lover!
AAAAKKKHHHHH! I want all the details! How did you get your aunt to agree? WHat did you name him/her? How old? How much does he/she wiegh? WHen do I get to see her/him?????? I am so excited!!!!!!!
The whole family is so excited for you! Where is the picnic this time? We can't wait to see little Odin! I am just so glad you took the leap!!! I'll bet Rachel is just about as thrilled as you are! Tell her we say hi.
Farley got neutered Fri and he is doing fine, except that he has to wear the "cone head," as it is being referred to around here. He says to tell you Congratulations and he is looking forward to meeting little Odin!!!
Aww, little Odin! Is he from Celeste? He;s exactly 1 year, 2 days older than Stanley. So at this time last year, I knew exactly how you felt. Counting down the days till you can bring him home. Congrats! Hope to see you at one of our meetups when he's old enough!
Don't know about going down to Palm Bay. You'll probably have to send us lots of pics instead. We're waiting for another meet up here east Orl. Or we can just get together when you get him!
Well, originally my mom (she got them as a gift for him) got a size small because that was what the people at the store recommended, but even when they were adjusted out at their fullest length, I didn't like how tight they felt on his head and how small they were around his eyes. So she took them back and got a medium and I have been totally happy with them. Can adjust the length in and out, and I don't worry about him bumping them and having them move too close his eyes.
Glad to have been able to help. They're really great and hopefully you and Odin, and the other person who gets them, will enjoy and get much use out of them. You may need to initially train him to use them though, as it may be uncomfortable and different for him at first.
But then again, maybe you would get lucky and he will automatically take to them. Who knows, right? :)
Pictures are so cute! They do look like guinea pigs. I'm trying to figure out which one was Cooper in the video. I think I saw him. I tried to figure out his neck design. It looks a little bit like a arrow.
Congratulations Alison!!! You will fall deeply in love with him (if you haven't already). Spencer has brought such joy to our lives, I cannot imagine life without him.
I was looking at the pics you posted of the meetup and I was like "I don't remember this meetup!" But I guess those were from Feb '08?? Were you at our meetup at Downey a couple of months ago? I think I remember you...
having Scarlet with me is the best thing to ever happen in my life. Every day I come home from class and she's there to see me and take the stress of school away! She jumps up on my lap and licks my neck and face, and that's just so awesome. Scarlet is my first puppy and I can't believe i waited so long to get one. I've always been the kind of person who's outgoing, crazy, and totally upbeat....and Scarlet's personality matches mine: it's like the best friend I've always wanted. She makes me the happiest I've ever been in YEARS! Enjoy your new puppy :-D You will love your new baby like nothing else :-)
After your corgi arrives home, your life will never be the same. It will be brighter and happier. You chose an excellent breeder, and Odin will be your new best friend and companion forever. November 6th is around the corner, so exiting!!!
He only wore the cone for 7 days, and then only when we weren't watching him. 23 days - you must be going nuts - what's the exact date? Say hi to Rachel for us - Farley and I miss her.
Thanks Alison. You're going to love & enjoy having Odin in your life. Steve stole my heart the moment I saw him and the name was too funny (my friend named him - who names a dog Steve? LOL). Couldn't decide on a name for the 2nd one so he was nicknamed Turtle (yes, from Entourage) and it just stuck although his name eventually became Scott.
I love the picture with the stuffed corgi in the crate.
Hey! Odin is a cutie! of course, he is Superstar's nephew!Nutmeg and Zoe are Superduper's sister!you will enjoy having Odin around, they are a handful but worth it!
LOL! I know, and browsing through a lot of profiles looking at their pictures doesn't help either I am on here so much, I think it may be one reason the wait seems so long. And I know my friends are really tired of my talking about my Wynstan. The days are dragging by ever so slowly.
Odin is going to be a very gorgeous corgi when he grown up, you can just already tell by his big happy smile!
I am ready to see my Wynstan again to determine how much red he will have on his body at maturity, little hard to determine since he is still young. But until the 28th, I will have to live the experience through you until that saturday!
Ok - I can hardly stand it! Need the latest pics. Did you guys move out of your aunt's? We probably need to get together in the next couple of weeks so we can see him. Baby corgi's are so cute. Then they grow into adult corgis and they continue to be amazing!
Picked him up Friday. He is so cute! I forgot how sharp those baby teeth were. Radar is beside himself, he will herd him away from things he shouldn't be in and plays tug o' war real gentle. A real good big brother. How's Odin doing?
Yeah she was rough playing with a pup her own age and sprained her ankle... so we think anyway. We'll get her checked out soon, but she's going better.
