My husband and I will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2011! Have 2 human kids and 2 fur kids. I now have the four kids I've always wanted. :)
Name: Lance
Breed: Cardigan Welsh Corgi(Blue Merle)
Birthday: October 30, 2005.
Current Age: 8 1/2
RIP 5-3-14
Was an only dog for 5 years, but not anymore! Learning about sharing, I hear sharing is good. :) I have corgi buddies already so hopefully it wont be too hard to share with my brother.
Lance is a pure breed cardigan corgi, at the moment he may appear like he is not because his ears are floppy. Lance is dealing with auto immune issues and vasculitis of the ears which affects the blood flow in his ears.
Name: Tucker
Breed: Red and White Pembroke. Was rescued from the
shelter March 6, 2011
Birthday: October 12, 2007
Current Age: 6
Tucker is a sweetheart, seems quite comfy here. :) So glad to be out of the shelter. I was so sweet the first time I met my potential owners I gave them lots of corgi kisses, I stole their hearts. <3
I found him on puppyfind.com from a family in Missouri who is just starting out with breeding. They are FFA people and their son does obedience with their two dogs, and they decided to have a litter.
P.S The trick is -train your friends before you train your dog:x)
Rules for friends:
a) Knock on door & wait for me be4 entering.
b) No talking to my dog until they've greeted people first.
c) Reward her calm behaviour- pet her when she's sitting down, not jumping up.
d) When I am not home, don't talk to my dog through the glass door - (this got her so over- excited when they did come round & she became very boisterous).
Then you can -Train your puppy:
1. Teach your 'baby' ( I say dog to my friends) to 'come, sit, stay', one at a time on command
2. Don't let him 'own' the front door by getting in front of you when you open it.
3. Use the sit/stay commands when he's barking if doesn't know the 'leave' command
3. Don't fuss your baby when he's jumping up
Thank you for the note and the welcome! Your Corgi, Lance, is such a unique and beautiful Corgi. I am looking forward to meeting all the great fellow Corgi lovers on this site!
Natalie! *hugs* Hope you and Lance are doing well! It's been 3 weeks since Chester died. I'm doing better than I ever imagined I'd do without him. (I still have a cat.......blah.........but it's better than being alone LOL!) Yesterday I went back to the Vet's office and thanked them for all they did for Chester, hugged his Vet, she's such an amazing person. I stopped at the Pet Store......no, not to buy.....I was hoping they'd have Corgi pups that I could sit and play with for a while. The owner is a friend of a friend. I wonder if you could give me Lance's breeder's name. I'm not ready to have another dog.........well, my heart is ready.....but my finances aren't. But I want to know Lance's breeder in case I DO get ready. I would LOVE to have a Cardi, especially if he looks like Lance! I swear Lance is the most beautiful dog I've ever seen. (OK, not as beautiful as Chester was LOL)
hey there! we are doing good...she is being such a good girl lately :)...we all love her sooo much. she has really added something to our lives that we were missing...just did't know it .
so how is "handsome" doing? i see he is 4 now...WOW!
Mini is one now...and improved ALOT...hope all is well with ya's
I just noticed you are from Illinois. I grew up in Joliet. I see Lance likes the snow. We have to travel north to Flagstaff or Pinetop, Arizona to play in the snow. Roxy (our Corgi/Westie Mix) LOVES the snow. We also have a Wire Fox Terrier. He wasn't as excited as Roxy. She chased snow balls and dug holes in the snow. I see we'll be making another trip up north before the snow all melts.
Hello and thanks for the 'welcome'. Lance is a very hansom Corgi. I love his blue eyes! Is that a common trait in Corgis? My Little Buddy is 18mos. old and is the first Corgi I've owned...just wish I had known about them sooner.
Hi Natalie
That's what the vet said for me to do too to slow Joey down. Eats so fast. It gives him TERRIBLE gas. I started giving him GasX and that cured that LOL
Thanks for the welcome! I am very new to mycorgi and am trying to figure it out. I have Sherlock who is 9 months and alot of fun. We live in San Jose, CA
Your Corgi looks very sweet, love the blue eyes!
Jeremy
My my! what a beautiful corgi!!! Scooter was supose to come out similar since his father is a blue merle toy aussie shep. But either way i love him, thank you for the welcome!
Hi -- I'm new to this. Lilly's full AKC name is "Li'l bit a Lilly" because we didn't like her cowboy birth name of "Lasso" and we saw her mother "Lilly" my first comment was "Wow, she's a little bit of Lilly" and the name stuck. She is not almost three years.
Natalie,
The pup is my son-in-laws brothers pup! He was born in early Jan. and is 1/2 poodle and half Japanese ????. He should be a corgi as he has absolutely NO fear...if you check out my other pic....the weimeraner mix in the back ground would growl at him to stay away and little Presley just kept climbing on him. Mav didn't growl out of meaness but he has always been very cautious of pups and not wanting to hurt(step on) them! We had such a great time! Just wait till your neice gets a little older!
Thanks for the comment. Fleta and her grandparents all had amazing brindle stripes - her grandparents names - Tiger in Disguise and Pteri Tiger !!!
She says THANKS!
