My husband and I will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2011! Have 2 human kids and 2 fur kids. I now have the four kids I've always wanted. :)
Name: Lance
Breed: Cardigan Welsh Corgi(Blue Merle)
Birthday: October 30, 2005.
Current Age: 8 1/2
RIP 5-3-14
Was an only dog for 5 years, but not anymore! Learning about sharing, I hear sharing is good. :) I have corgi buddies already so hopefully it wont be too hard to share with my brother.
Lance is a pure breed cardigan corgi, at the moment he may appear like he is not because his ears are floppy. Lance is dealing with auto immune issues and vasculitis of the ears which affects the blood flow in his ears.
Name: Tucker
Breed: Red and White Pembroke. Was rescued from the
shelter March 6, 2011
Birthday: October 12, 2007
Current Age: 6
Tucker is a sweetheart, seems quite comfy here. :) So glad to be out of the shelter. I was so sweet the first time I met my potential owners I gave them lots of corgi kisses, I stole their hearts. <3
Thank you for the welcome!! I will try to get some pics up as soon as possible. He doesn't sit still often so it may be a bit difficult. My wife and I kind of went back and forth on a few names but we're definitely happy with the choice as well :D
Thanks Natalie...I don't often check for messages now but still think about you and Lance. How are you doing? How is Lance? Butter is now eating Japanese food...my husband is on a Japanese/vegetarian kick and has Butter eating it too. Thank goodness!! He is finally losing some of his extra pounds. I am on a break from cancer treatments. My mom died while I was having chemo and couldn't be with my family. So am taking a break to see my family now. Treatments have been rough. Glad that God is helping me. Love Joy
Thank you!! Do you have any idea what he might be mixed with I can't really seem to figure it out. I think it's either dachshund or German Shepard but I can't really tell.
Thanks for the welcome... Jackson and I are excited to be members! Your pup is GORGEOUS!!! I've never seen any dog like it. You'll soon see how handsome my Jackie is too! :o)
WOW! What a great page you have here. It's neat to see all the different corgis on this corgi.com. Your pictures are really good too. Nice looking cardi, love those blue eyes. Lisa
Thank you! Hope you're having a nice visit in VA. I live just south of Richmond, about a two-hour drive north to Woodbridge with all the traffic. I'd love to join your group; Dewi's maternal grandparents are Pecan Valley Panda (Teddy) and Pecan Valley Princess. ;)
Thank you, so is Lance. Dewi's littermate brother looks like Lance (blue eyes and all).
My husband and I seemed to have met every other Cardi owner in the Richmond area shortly after taking our boys out in public "dog" places - they just seem to run out of the woodwork. We love how the Cardi community is so tightly-knit. :)
He used to be Max, but now Kirby and he lives near the coast of VA. I didn't mention he is a fluff (which Lance is not), but the front end coloring is similar. We almost got him over Dewi when the breeder thought she would keep Dewi for conformation. There was quite a waiting list of potential forever homes for beautiful blue-eyed Max. :)
I haven't been on here in FOREVER!! Sorry for the majorly delayed reply :/ .. Anyway, how is Mr Lance enjoying the warmer weather? I know Mr Kip here is LOVING it! He sits at the back door and goes berzerk when he he's pigeons on his grass. It's rather funny to watch ^.^ I'm so so so happy to have him. He brightens up my day all the time. He's gotten so much smarter too! In one day, he's learned:
Up
Dance
High-five
Gimme Ten
Hop
Nose
Wiggle
and Spin
I just love looking at pictures of Lance! He is the most gorgeous Cardi I have ever seen! If I could find his twin I would scoop him up in a second!!! Anyway, just wanted to tell you how handsom he is! I seriously just love him! I'm sure he has a great personal to back it up too!
You're very welcome! I can't remember the first part of what I wrote but I know I said "I wish that we lived closer together because I'm sure Lance and Alwyn would get along wonderfully".
That would be great if our corgis had an easier way to meet up. You know something that I kick myself for because I never thought of it earlier? My fiance, Alwyn and I just took an 11,000 mile road trip across the country and if I known you and a few others beforehand, we would have been thrilled to plan some corgi meet ups along the way! We already planned our trip based mostly on places we could experience with Alwyn so that would have been fantastic if he could see who Mom has been speaking to online as well. Oh well, next trip that’ll definitely be on the list!
Also - Happy Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day!!
Hello, I didn't forget about your message from the other day. I've just been trying to sit down and think of all the places we had explored! In a nutshell here is where we traveled to: From Massachusetts we headed South and first saw the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC, saw family in Spartanburg, SC, followed Rt. 40W and stopped in Memphis, drove through AR and OK (we drove through that terrible storm in June involving the boyscout troop), Roswell, Santa Fe and its nearby ghost towns, Rt. 66, Flagstaff, AZ, slept in our truck outside of the Grand Canyon as it was 11pm and no campsites were available, stayed in Las Vegas for a few days. In California we drove through Death Valley, camped in Kings Canyon / Sequoia National Forest, San Francisco (went to Ft. Funston and of course saw the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz), followed Hwy 101, saw Mt. Shasta at sunset, Smith River. Going into Oregon we saw the Siuslaw National Forest, Oregon Redwood Nature Trail (had the entire trail to ourselves), Paradise Point (sank our truck on the only beach you're unknowingly not supposed to drive on, lol), Haceta Head Lighthouse, Seal Rock, Cape Kiwanda, Portland (neat restaurant called Lucky Lab where our corgis are more than welcome). Heading into Washington we visited Dungeness park, Beach #3 (had this entire beach to ourselves), Rialto Beach, Olympic National Park, were oblivious to the fact that Forks and Pt. Angeles were the basis of the Twilight series (we've never seen or read the books/movies), Seattle we saw the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and took Alwyn to Magnusson Park which is a fantastic dog park, saw Mt. Ranier, stayed in Glacier National Park for a week and saw fireworks over our campsite for the 4th. Driving through South Dakota we stopped in Lead, Deadwood, Hill City and Rapid City again, Badlands National Park, Sioux Falls, and then followed I-90 all the way home! Whew, it was quite the exciting trip and we'd do it all over again. We even saw a few corgis along the way
Lance could really be a doggie model!! Thank you! It's funny, their adoption days were exactly 10 years apart on the same day, completely unplanned. :)
Thanks for your comment, and yes! lol, I am staying cool and so are my dogs. Cold water sometimes with ice cubes and (it is controversial but...) Strike is also shaved. (my god! He LOVES it! He is so happy he lost that extra hot fur, and he doesn't look half bad though I love him furry as well!) : ) And may I say, what a cute dog you have! I never really liked blue eyes on animals but his eyes are so cute! And match him perfectly! : )
Lol! I don't blame you for taking a lot of photos... he is so photogenic! Hey, it's never too late to start that photography career, you already have the perfect subject!! :)
Thanks! We are just waiting to hear back from my breeder about whether we will be getting him or not. I hope we can have him, Frosty really needs another dog to play with. The cats just can't Frap with him like he needs lol
Heey thanks a lot for the welcome! I really enjoy seeing all the different corgi's and reading each other experiences. Yours is so beautiful and he looks so sweet!
Hi Natalie & Lance! Please forgive me for not thanking you for the welcome when we joined the My Corgi site! I'm so sorry! I guess I was a little overwhelmed and so new to all this stuff...Anyway I just wanted to FINALLY say thank you! I so love being a part of this community and from Callie, Cooper & I we wish you and Lance all the best...
